New suggestion for the game

Here's a suggestion, how about adding voices to our characters? Instead of us being totally silent junkies? You know how awkward it is when I'm doing "Boldy they Rode" and my captain is as silent as an awed crowd after something amazing happened?

Or when you're doing the very first mission as a new federation captain right after your training in the acadamy and you're talking to your transportation officer? Having no voice is a great first impression on how silent your captain is, how "un-voiced" he is.

Famous captains, like James T. Kirk, Jean-Luc Picard and Benjamin Sisko had a voice, and they used it d#mn well too. So come on Cryptic...give our captains a voice too? :D

i would like voices, but unfortunately, they would have to record all the player conversations in several voices, both male and female, to make sure there are enough choices to please people. and it would likely cost a lot.

Yep, it's a pretty big task, and would probably add a lot of heft to the game, data-wise.

    It would be cool, though.
You're right. The work here is very important.

I also think one of the main reasons hwy they didnt do any sort of voices for the captain, so you can basically imagine what they sound like and not have your heart broken when your character speaks out how you dont think it hsould sound.

Although suggested many times in the past, it would be cool. If anyone has played the Saints Row games, when you set up your character in that game you get a choice of three different voices for both male and female. They are african american / hispanic / british.

For the umpteenth time, how about a big fat resounding "No?"

I think that the game should start focusing on STORY missions again instead of these lame ones. Klingon Wars was great! 20 or so missions of an expanding storyline that had a wonderful climax ending to it! The Doomsday device. Who would have imagined?? But when you get closer to the Borg Invasion campaign, they just seem less and less cinematic and story-driven. They seem like the developers just threw things together quickly and threw them at us. I'm sorry but I want the old style of mission play back. I hope this new Captain/Director of STO starts making story-driven campaigns again like it was in Klingon Wars. It seems more like an arcade shooter to me now than anything. Ever since STO went F2P, they have really laxed on the quality and detail of the campaigns. Heck, the Foundry missions are more stimulating than the missions that the Developers create! I was completely let down when I saw that the Borg Invasion was only 4 or 5 missions. PLUS...it didn't seem to have a story to it. It was just going from one area to the next fighting Borg. There was no real purpose behind it. There was no climactic ending...I just got done breezing through the missions in Season 8...the Dyson Sphere. I scream out to the developers. If it takes you a year to come out with each Season just to give us awesome story missions like the first one was, then please...DO IT!!! I am so tired of just not getting the full cinematic features of the earlier missions in the later ones. Granted, I haven't played the Klingon or Romulan missions yet, so there might be a lot of them there. We'll see. But still...give us more in the Federation playthroughs. We want story!

Sorry for the rant but I just had to get it off my chest.

There are a million simple programs out there to convert text to spoken word without human intervention. It doesn't exactly sound natural just yet, but I still think it would be neat. It could include a few adjustments to the sound of your character's voice, maybe even give you the option of recording your own sample for it to match.

Sounds awesome, but expensive as hell. And it'd probably cause lag. But it's a nice, fun idea.

I would like to simply see some better customer service. It's appearent the game already has technical issues sometimes which is understandable since its constantly being updated and patched, but when those issues cause players to loose out on a deal they spent money on or items and such, It seems none of the staff are actually able/willing to help out. I've played other free to play mmo's where game staff seemed almost too happy to help you out, so how come STO does not have the same quality of services?

You can ad a microphone to your headset and talk by yourself. I'll do it all the time. :D

I call Worf Duppie, he seems to like it, he never complains about it.

It's actually about 4 or 5, with Nolan North and Zombie speak.
