Miles O' Brian is one of my favorite characters in the series because of Christina his Lycosa tarantula. I was wondering if it's possible to recreate his likeness in the game or not? Also i was wondering if "she" was available for purchase in the store. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Markas Carter

    Miles O' Brien

I want to recreate his likeness in-game as well as having his pet. ;) Hope that makes sense.

They would need to get permission from the actor to create his likeness. Which is why the only actors with their likeness in game are ones who have done voiceover, or are dead.

So i guess if i created a character that looked like him, PWE could get into trouble. :( That also means that if someone was to give me advice on creating such a character he/she could face getting banned. :( Wow what happened to Star Trek Fandom  Anyways I also guess having Christina as a pet is out of the question? :P

You can try and create a character that has likeness with Miles O'Brien. It's fair use policy.. or something like that. Because you are not in the business of selling the likeness of Miles O'Brien and profit off it.

Where is the actor who played Miles O' Brien anywaysand what happened to Christina anyways, she appeared on one episode and was never to be seen again? I assume she died sometime after that episode?

Colm Meaney (Miles O'Brian) has recently appeared in the show "Hell on wheels" as a recurrent character.

Miles should be retired by now after a distinguished service record on the Enterprise D, DS9 and Star Fleet Academy.

It's 20 years after DS9 so it'd be more likely to see his daughter in the game.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Recently he's been in Alan Partridge Alpha Papa as a "terrorist", it's awesome. They used the name Molly as his daughter's (or other relative) name. Quite hilarious - not sure if it's intentional or not though.

General say is that you cannot reproduce the face of a living actor. For copyright and actor reasons. You can reproduce the characters, as long as they are in disguise or otherwise not on screen. This is because of the legal issues of using an actor's face, which is considered an asset.

Also, it is considered really tacky and unimaginative to copy a main character from Canon. See Mary Sue Test

This is generally why anyone whose toon is "Captain Spok of the USS Enterpraise" is universally laughed at and ridiculed within my fleet.

As for Kirayoshi O'Brien's current posting

Christina was O'Brien's pet tarantula, first seen in the TNG episode "Realm of Fear", where he introduces Barclay to her, talking about how keeping her helped him get over his fear of spiders.

I would really enjoy to see this idea incorporated into the game. Darn good idea...

I saw a discussion thread about this on a trek board ages ago. The most supported conclusion was that Christina was eaten by a Cardassian Vole when O'Brien transferred to Deep Space Nine. This is what fuels O'Brien's hatred for the creatures.

I have seen many, many instances of Captain Picard, Captain Janeway, Captain Kirk, Spock, and many other Star Trek characters running around, with tailor results ranging from 'awesome' to 'utterly hideous.' So it can be done, in theory.

In practice, though, I have no idea if this flies in the face of the game's TOS. I do know that Foundry authors aren't allowed to reproduce the likeness of a character, but that might be because Foundry missions become part of the game, whereas a random character running around is just someone's player character. I also know that the computer will not accept certain names, but I don't know what those names are precisely, so that's something to keep in mind as well.

Unless Keiko finally henpecked him into retirement, I can't really see him ever completely withdrawing unless he went into some branch of engineering civilian-side. I could easily see him continuing on at Starfleet Academy, or possibly be working at Utopia Planitia. It might not be to his preference of getting hands-on work in a grimey old space station with everything breaking down, but it would definitely be better than staring at the holovid all day waiting for a heart attack.
