Need help! :(

Ok so a while ago I joined the "trade" channel. Bad idea I found out.. :( The chat bleeds over into all my tabs, I cant leave the channel, and I cant even talk in it. I know customer service will never do anything for me, so I was wondering if the community has found a fix? I just want out of the chat. :(

    Are you saying /channel_leave doesn't work? Or have you just not tried it?

    Go to chat sett8ngs on the bottom right of your chqt channel and uncheck the box with that chat

    I cant do commands because the channel doesnt come up under my list of channels to use. I can see it under chat settings and the leave button is there, but when I press it nothing happens. And I cant uncheck it because its not under the list. :(

    Yeah you're right. I just joined to try it out and now I'm in the same boat. channel_leave trade has no effect, clicking the leave button on the channels window has no effect, and I can't deselect the channel because there's no checkbox for it. Cool!

    Well maby now they will look into it.. After 5 bug reports and several requests I have yet to receive any help.

    Oh man, I just realized this isn't even STO's trade channel. It's from Champions Online. In Cryptic's system chat channels cross game boundaries, sometimes with unforeseen consequences. This would be one of those times. /channel_join trade put me on CO's trade channel, which is why I can't do anything with it here in STO.

    I suspect I'll have to install CO to leave the channel from there. Sadface.

    There is a way to leave it but it is ugly. You need to download and install champions online, go into the game, join and leave the channel there. The channel was created in that game and for some reason that games owns that channel. That is how I left it.

    guessing logging has not helped all i can say is keep posting in the bug reports here n take spme screen shots n put the link there as well.

    I figured that was the case. Thanks for confirming that the 7GB download isn't a waste of time. Well, let me rephrase that; thanks for confirming that it will solve the problem.

    And for the record, that worked. To leave a chat channel all you have to do is download a 7GB game. Simple and convenient. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to chop up a tree with a frozen ham sandwich, then burn the wood chips to make a cup of coffee.
