T'varo alpha striker

cepholapoidcepholapoid Member Posts: 284 Arc User
Hello all, I've been leveling a new romulan Klingon and been thinking of making an alpha striker. I have some experience with this style and have flown them for quite some time in pvp.
Any tips on things I could improve on my build?

For doffs I'm running a cannon reduction doff, a beam overload bleed through doff, two attack pattern reduction doffs and a EptX reduction doff and plan on getting fulmar or something along those lines.

I would go 3 bleed through, marion, and 2 of your choice. Possibly energy weapon buff strippers
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

I've got one more question, where or how do I activate the long secondary tray? I never really looked but I would like to use it so I can just put all my alpha buffs in there

You may want to look at www.thissler.com. It depends what you want to do but generally if you're an alpha striker you probably want to hit and run, emphasis on the run.

You also want to hit hard with your first shot and kill them in a second, there are many things that can ruin an alpha strike, RSP is one of them and to avoid that you want to hit hard, fast and without mercy.

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.

You don't need Marion for a Sniper Build. If your fights last more than five seconds, you move out and try again.

You don't need RSP..You want speed, so A2D. If you are hanging around long enough to need RSP, you are doing it wrong. A lot of your victories are going to come from being really annoying to the target, so don't even give them the chance to hurt you back.

Dump the 2piece Borg for 2piece Omega, as Omega Engines equal speed.

Honestly, you could go A2B and A2D and run high Aux power for stealth protection. Just before you decloak and strike, you A2B to flip your power. By the time you need to get out of there, your power has automatically shifted back to Aux.

Not really a fan of your console selections. If you run all Rom Superior Op Boffs, you can hold off a bit on those Crit uni consoles and focus on resistance and speed.

The rest is all about timing your strikes and not missing on a BO. If you do miss, just bail. When you do bail, do it via a Singularity Jump,a Singularity Shadow or an Impulse Capacitor console.

Power settings from Highest to Lowest = Aux, Engine, Weapon, Shield.
When you attack with A2B, the power shifts to =Weapon, Engine, Shield, Aux. (with 3 being over the 75% mark for your AMP bonus)

That is my two cents on Sniping with a T'Varo. You'll have to play with it to really understand how it works.

You don't need to run A2B doffs with what I am talking about. I mean, you can but 3 battery buff doffs are going to do way more for you if your target has over 70k in hull.

I'd just go 3 battery buff doffs, 1 A2D doff and 1 warpcore debuff strip doff. That makes 3 for the attack and 2 for your defense.

If you want balls to the walls power killing, you'd go 3xBattery Doff, 2xTT Doff(the one with a bonus to Attack Patterns) and a Romulan Engine for the +26.2 to Attack Patterns. Can run Deflector of choice if you do that.

That last setup can get you killed(via FB1 :P), but it carries +30% to weapons and 46.2 to Attack Patterns for crazy burst DMG.

Helps if you've trained into Batteries to extend the buff time on the weapons..

You can push it even farther if you forego Antiprotons or Romulan weapons and choose Polarons and with the Jem'Hadar Mk XII Deflector and Shield for the additionally large bonus to Polaron weapons. The upside to polarons is that they are on a different Elite Shield than Disruptors, Plasma and Antiprotons. So folks in places like Kerrat are fairly exposed to them.
