Suggestion: Enable Odyssey-type bridge for Chimera

My suggestion is simple--enable the Odyssey-class-type bridge for the Chimera-class Vet ship.

The reasoning? The Chimera and the Odyssey have similar bridges judging from the layout of the windows in the space view of the ships. Both have a ovular window on the top with similar structural beams, and both have a long lateral window on the front of Deck 1 implying a dual-tier bridge like the Odyssey.

If the requirement is owning a Z-store Odyssey, that'd be fine too (but I'm bias since I already do...).

    In my opinion... only if they made the bridge a bit smaller... it's too big for a escort which is supposed to be smaller... hey even for a ship as big as the oddy is too big. It would be fine for an underground base, but in space you should be trying to save... well space.


    I love how the oddy bridge looks, i like the color, the layout, etc, but i think is too big

    This would be cool, the Chimera is one of the larger escorts along with the Armitage, it would work with the Odyssey bridge.

    Size is a problem with almost all bridges though. I mean, it is no bigger or worse than using the diplomacy bridges on the Chimera which ARE enabled.

    I don't want much from my starship bridges. 1) the correct deck plan display for the ship hull. 2) no large dips or steps my officers can brake their neck falling down. 3) appropriate scale.

    Sadly despite buying all the bridges except for the original series and Belfast (sorry but the only thing I want from those packs are the bridges and I am not paying that much for them) I don't have a single bridge that meets all those criteria, no matter which of my ships I fly.

    The chimera is at a particular disadvantage as there is no ship with its deck plan.

    At the very least cryptic need to give the Zen bridge packs a touch up, fixing texture seems and other bugs, and provide a version of each with no deck plan.

    Also remove the ship type limitations on bridges obtained through possession of a specific ship. There is no need for it what so ever. It in no way effects another persons enjoyment of the game if some one wants to put the odyssey bridge on their defiant.... even if you could probably fit most of a defiant in the damn bridge.

    The one problem with that idea is that the Odyssey bridge is built SPECIFICALLY for the Odyssey.

    Look out the windows and you'll see what I mean.

    The free Odyssey doesn't have such a problem, though. Not that anybody would particularly care about that bridge. :P

    I find that to be a minor issue since the shape of the Chimera's saucer is similar enough to satisfy me.

    I agree with the poster who said that once you own a ship, any bridge should be accessible to all ships. That'd be a problem solved right there.

    I paid fifty dollars for the Odyssey pack, and part of that was for the bridge. It should stay only accessible by those who, like me, paid for it. That said, if people that bought it could use it on other ships, that sounds fine. After all, you can use the TOS bridge on any ship, not just the Constitution-class. And same with the Belfast.

    I own the Odyssey pack. So it's a non-issue for me.

    Also the Anniversary Odyssey bridge fits the Chimera nicely, imo.

    By Anniversary Odyssey you mean the once free one that can be had for 200k FC? Does it have different / unique bridge?

    To add to the discussion, I do have Chimera and I like it a lot. I got Tac Odyssey from C-STORE the last ship sale and I love it's bridge but I too think the bridge is too big for Chimera and although I'd like to see similar-design futuristic bridge at Chimera (after all it's prototype ship, right), I don't think it's gonna happen. After all we just got the Fleet version of Chimera, so guys, cheer up and be happy for that little thing.
