Hearts and Minds issue...

gr0cksgr0cks Member Posts: 16 Arc User
I'm having problems completing this. I line up the isolinear chips in the puzzle, but nothing happens. I can't seem to open the door to progress the mission.

Since this is only around for a few more hours, anyone have any ideas? I'd like to complete it.

Edit: After retrying several times, the option finally appeared. All set.

yeah unlike most of the other iso puzzles you have to have the chips in a specific color order in order to progress, which means reading the green text. Something that STO doesnt drive most players to do which causes issues when other things except players to read

    :D

Reading is fundamental, even in video-games. There are situations where you can't DPS-firehose your way through, you need to read, comprehend and follow directions.

Just so you're aware you can shoot the console to get past the door. However I have only seen this option after having died to the gas.
It may be a bug or it may be designed, I'm not sure.
    Well I can't forget a face but I won't remember y'all.

Shooting the console was how I got through it on 4 of my 5 toons. I actually got the puzzle pretty quick on my last try.
But the first few times I died from the gas, I was like, what a trollish thing to do. lol
For some reason, my human engineer was more resistant to the gas.

If you wear an EV suit, the gas won't hurt you.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Same for the breather masks Romulans get for the missions aboard Elachi ships.

Also, healing abilities can either keep you alive longer, or in some cases keep the gas from killing you completely, such as medical generators.

Actually read the mission text where it explains they not only have to be aligned, but be in a particular order?

Ah, I didn't catch that. It was the first time I did hearts and Minds, so I was trying to pay attention to the story. However, it was early in the morning, and I was still downing my first cup of joe. My reading comprehension wasn't very sharp. I did manage to get it the mission done though.

None the less, thank you all for taking the time to respond.

See that's why, when I'm restricted to one Boff, I always choose the medic.

You only have to do three moves. Middle green down, upper row left then blue left down. I had other issues with this mission. My Boff medic got stuck with the fight with critters. I had to finish it solo. That went pretty smooth. However the mission ended in my time zone at 15:00. I finished it a couple of minutes after that and could not collect the reward.
