Play it with a Lenovo touchpad, seriously, it adds whole new elements to the game. You can not press keys and move the mouse at the same time, so you have to give up steering/throttle control to activate bridge powers/special abilities.
Go ahead people, give it a whirl, feel my pain, embrace the challenge
"I am a travelor of both time and space to be where I have been"
And do it on elite difficulty, with only white items, generic security officers for an away team only, with balanced energy levels, no autofire, while out in the snow, and walking up a hill...like we used to in the good old days...
Actually the most challenging way to play STO is Elite difficulty in the Miranda or a shuttle for space combat and Elite difficulty with Mk I equipment and solo (no Bridge Officers) for ground combat.

That's how I play! I just use a lot of carefully-maintained hotbars.
Which is why the new ship bug (where adding a ship screws up all of your hotbars) pisses me off.
PvP using only keyboard, flying an oberth with all common, using a computer with a pentium 3, while at the same time playing night of nights on a piano.

I suggest a new MMO called "Real Life."
Which includes that most challenging of accolades: "A Job."

Turn your computer off, them try to play STO on it.
See how difficult that is?
I tried that for a while, but people look at you weird when you run around throwing snowballs at snowmen when it isn't in STO
Play PvP in a PvE built ship
