Proton Set Build

Okay here is my idea of a build for the new Proton set.

1 Gravimetric Torpedo, 2 Elite Fleet Distruptors Cannons, 1 Proton Expirmental Weapon

Back

3 Fleet Elite Disruptor Turrets, 1 Photon Mines

Consoles

Tac 2 Spire crit chance boosting

Science:

3 Romulan Particle Generators +threat, 1 Proton Particle Stabilizer

Enigeering:

1 Fleet Elite Nuetronium, 2 Fleet Elite RCS, 1 PDS

Hangar Bay: Either Slavers/Interceptors/Armoured Maurading Force Shuttles depending on situtation.

Boffs:

Enigeering Commander:

EP2W I, Ep2w II, Aux to Intergity Field II, Reverse Shield Polarity III

Lt. Sci

Transfer Shield Strength, Tractor Beam II

Lt. Commander Sci:

Hazard Emitters, Siphon Energy II, Feedback Pulse III

Eng Ensign:

Enigeering Team

Tac Lt. HYT and Cannon Rapid Fire.

Fleet Elite Axion Deflector, Fleet Elite Regen Shields, Fleet Elite Impulse Engine, Fleet Elite Warpcore

Okay here is my logic. I only have two tac consoles anyway so with 62%-13 percent is 49 percent lost from using the Proton Weapon, but that is made up 22.9 percent damage bonus, 13% to GPT and Photon Mines, 3 percent crit chance and 10% crit severity to everything.

Plus the Console gives 3 percent weapons power and the PEW only uses 5% weapons power so that basically gaining 8% power to weapons.

My Particle Generators boost he damage from the rifts the Gravimetric Torps create as well as feedback pulse and my tractor beam.

My Particle Generators will also add a 3 plasma procs to the Proton Weapon, which has a high rate of fire.

The buff to photon weapons will boost my Photon Mines into dealing Quantum Mine levels of damage, but at a Photon CD, and a huge crit chance bump.

The Proton Experimental Weapon (PEW) also procs 50% of the time on a crit so the PEWs effective proc rate is 50 percent of your crit chance. The PEW has an innate 6% crit chance bonus, plus 3% for the set bonus, plus a fast rate of fire, so that will add up.

Lastly the universal parts of the Set bonus should buff my PDS.

Any advice or critisms...

Update, I have both the Graviton Photon Torp and the Proton Particle Stabilzer Console on my ship.

On a lark I have the GPT, 2 Elite Fleet Distruptors, and a second purple photon torp, accx2 and dmg.

On the back I have Advanced Fleet Photon Mines dmgx3 and 2% crit chance, and 3 Distruptor turrets.

I have 3 torp duffs, 2 green and 1 blue

HY for TS because HY Graviton Heavy Torps often don't reach thier target or I'd be too close and get damaged.

My assessment is this is awesome, I've boosted by damage greatly and I'm blowing up more ships at a time. TS is far more veristile, always gets to target, and HY was always setting off rifts.

I have noticed as well that it the first torp of each cluster that can sef off a rift when using TS. Which makes sense.

With three purple this will be brutal.

One trick I'e noticed is when Elite Spire goes to Omega Shuttle phase start dropping Photon Mines right away all along the space were they have to fly through.

My torps do around 5000 damage a pop according to the tool tip, and that's not including crits and alpha manuever.

My Photonic Mines do 3000 or more a shot and I can launch them often.

Okay I finally have the Experimental Proton Weapon completing the Protonic Aresonal Set.

I changed out my purple photon torp for the Proton Wep and I'm glad I did. I kept using Torpedo Spread with the wrong torp and by completing the set both my Gravimetric Photon Torpedo and my Photon Mines have an extra 10% crit chance and all my weapons have an extra 10% crit severity. That means with every Torpedo Spread I crit, for more damage.

I'm really enjoying the Proton Wep, the visual is nice, especially when you fire off Cannon Rapid Fire, Torpedo Spread, Feedback Pulse, and PDS at the same time against a Borg Cube, talk about a light show, fire works yeah!

Unbuffed my Elite Disruptor Cannons deal 940 damage dps and my Proton Rep does 860 dps, but the buffs to my Crit Severity, Photon Crit Chance, and its rapid rate of fire which means my 3 Plasma Procs hit more often counter balances the difference.

Now if I was using dual cannons or I had more then two tac consoles it probably wouldn't be worth it, but I only have two so the benifits out way the draw backs.

I have two pieces of the Dyson Technology Set, the Deflector and the Impulse Engines and I will have the Dyson Field Stabilizing Warp Core in a matter of days, so I'll have Proton Barrage set bonus soon. That just leaves the Shields.

If you happen to use Torp Spread, then change the photon torp to all CRTH or CRTD because Torp Spread never misses.

edit: I see you ditched the phot torp...but the idea is the same for all torps.
