Winter Wonderland 2.0 Idea

So I've been talking with a lot of my friends, and we've all agreed that the Winter Event this year isn't very fun. It's gotten stale and "limp". The very few new additions this year don't make it worth playing much if you've seen it even once before, like me. This is my second Winter Event ever and I'm already sick of it. Same items with a couple new toys. Horrible colored new jackets, voiceovers that force you to turn them off or go insane, and a race that anyone with any kind of internet connection issues can't even finish. I have some friends that haven't been able to finish it once because the server or their internet hiccups, and they're suddenly off the track. So they've given up and said, "Oh well, I guess i'm not getting the new Breen ship." Which is horribly sad if you ask me.
But this isn't a whine about everything and suggest nothing post! I have an answer. Well, maybe more like a distant dream. But hey, why not give it a shot? Maybe someone will read it and make it a reality. This year's Risa event was amazing, right? A new game mechanic, a beautiful new zone, and fun all around. And best yet, Cryptic left it in! I STILL go there to zip around on my floater from time to time. So imagine this. Do the same thing, but with a winter zone. Put it on Andoria. That planet zone has been a ghost town forever.
Allow me to paint you a picture. A zone of ice and snow with towering mountains dominated by a huge ice palace or snow castle. Maybe semi-transparent? Spires and balconies. A sight to behold. It can hold all the things like bank, exchange, tailor, etc. Now, the current winter zone has a VERY fun mechanic. Ice skating with the Frosted Boots. But there's not much to actually do with them. A tiny flat frozen pond. This needs to be used more. Put in a frozen lake. Maybe rivers. Give the players something to zip around on. Maybe throw in jumps? A luge track? Something to feel some of that speed and freedom that made Risa so much fun. Put in a snowy forest with the sun shining through the snow covered branches. A mountain or two for the view. An ice cave. Yes, I'm borrowing heavily from the Risa event in my dream here. But it worked. Put in some Igloos somewhere. Maybe some furry woodland creatures. A couple new pets to follow you while you explore the island. Maybe a Icicle Sniper rifle? Snowshoes? The possibilities are endless. Yes, it'll take work and time. But just imagine it. With how pretty and dare I say majestic the current zone is, it would be truly breathtaking.
Yes I'm dreaming. Yes it's a far-fetched idea. Will Cryptic do it? Doubtful. Will they even read this? Heck, anything's possible. But it's only been a couple days and I'm done with the winter event except for that VERY annoying race. Same with a good number of my friends and fleeties. We got our items, and we're moving on. And that's a bad thing. Cryptic wants people grinding there for items. More grinding = more gameplay = more dollar signs in their eyes. So please. At least picture that pretty pretty picture in your head for a moment.
Edit: Oh! Couple more ideas. Make a snowflake non-combat pet maybe. Make it fly like the Risian birds. Maybe make it gently spin when idle or snow onto the ground. Make a whole bunch of different shapes and sizes so people will grind to collect them all. And if Cryptic is feeling lazy, just take the Risa zone and coat it with snow. Freeze all the water for Ice Skating and say Q did it.

The problem with events like this is that we, the players, have an insatiable desire for new things. Every year, we want something to be bigger and better. No matter what they do, unless they design a brand new map every year (which isn't really feasible), we're going to run into these sorts of issues. I suspect it'll be no different for Risa.
In the end, I'm not saying your idea is a bad one. I just think that even if they revamp the map, they're still gonna have to develop a baseline of games/mini-events that'll stick around year after year.
And people will always find that tedious once they've already done it.
I *love* the Risa event zone, and I didn't even get to make it to the Summer Event. It's beautiful, interesting, and big. The winter zone has beauty, but it's small and there's not that much to do.
Obviously it wouldn't be this year, but a new winter zone for 2014 would be bloody brilliant, if you ask me.
Bigger Zone? Yes
The Giant Iceplanet full of blew people getting content? Hell yes.
This is a good idea. Would I spend some money? Heck yeah
Would I populate the area afterwords? Heck yeah
Would I even make an Andorian? Oh Yes. Even buy the ships to go along with it
It's worth a shot. More Content More stuffs. More people opening wallets
Now if we could discover Q's Winter Wonderland being hosted on some other faction neutral planet that everyone can get to, I could see that working out.
