Help With Crew In The Game?

Many Greetings to my fellow Starship Captains!

I need some help with my in game crew of my starship? :confused:

I got deck officers of course and the other ships support crew,
But When I have to update them in the in game menu by pressng the "U" key!

I get my in game "me" the Captain come up 1st with the update sub menu by pressing the
"U" key again in that sub menu is all the items I've managed to win from a fight or brought from a trader ship or even found in a crate in the ground battles?

Now from what I learned sofar?

I can either use any of the items to upgrade my captain with better battle suits or personnel shields or guns or whatever is needed from thst sub menu?

I can even select the ship in the main menu my captain and crew are listed and updste it's fighting or defence parts to better ones I got there!

But this is the odd problem I need sorting out by one you great people?

How do I do the same outfitting and upgrading of my bridge officers who go on the ground away missions with me? :confused:

I can't seem to get the sub menu of the list of personnel items like guns or personnel sheilds etc. up for them?

All I can do is right click to bring up a small menu at the bottom of the screen of that deck crew member which lets me dis-miss them or promote them,
( if I can aford it zen wise? )

And they do have the right hand side of the deck crew blank box's to put in any new upgrades etc.?

Or train them in something new?

( But even then if I pick a new skill to train that deck crew member in?
Picking it for their rank level, most times I still can't even do this as the list of training only list me the captain for that skill?

So
"1" I can't outfit them with better kit or guns other than what the have already?

And:

"2" I can't even train them in better skills either?

Also I found that if I got a new office given to me to use as a deck officer as a reward for some battle! I say need one of them to be say a 2nd science station main deck officer or what ever and there is a person who meets this in their skills?

I click on them then click the asign this officer to deck crew station it don't do so no matter what I do?

Please help explain step by step how to sort this all out?

    Its been a while for me sense I did anything with my bridge officers, but im pretty sure you can personalize your boffs in the tailor.

    And for equiping your boffs with weapons, shields, ext...If you have some thing in your inventory you want one of your boffs to have just click and drag into the right slot.

    Also, for training your boffs in new skills, that can be a little tricky and took me a while to learn it all too.
    First you have to know what rank the boff you want to tain in is. If you find yourself not being able to train an officer in a certain skill you might have to promote them, witch costs skill points, not much though.

    Sorry, im if im no help, im really not that good at explaining things.

    But if your on ESD, try asking one question at a time, until you get help or an answer.
    There is always somebody that is willing to help and train your boff's.

    After hitting the 'U' key to open the status menu, check along the left-side of that window, where the Captain and Ship are listed. Below the ship name, it will list all of the currently assigned Bridge Officers aboard your ship. Click on one of them and you can equip any item located in your main inventory, exactly the same as equipping your Captain (Except that Bridge Officers cannot equip Kits, and may only have one weapon equipped). If the Boff's inventory isn't appearing, make sure that you're on the Status tab (located along the top of the Window, along with Skills, Traits, etc...).

    For improving Boff skills, either click on the Skills tab in the main status window, or just press 'K'. Click the Boff's name along the left, and it will show their available ground and space skills (which are the Boff equivalent of a 'kit'). In order to change any of those skills, you must either visit a Boff Skill Trainer (located in every home-area and some alternate bases), or have them trained by a Captain who is able to provide training in the skill you want.

    Also, take note that you can only have a certain number of Bridge Officers assigned to your crew, whether they are assigned to a station or not (starting out, I believe the number is 4 total Bridge Officers, with an additional slot at Captain rank and a final slot at Rear Admiral giving 6 total Bridge Officers if you are Free-to-Play.)

    I will check out the info about how to do these important upgading and skills etc.

    ASAP. :)

    Lets hope I can sort it out as I need two more bridge deck officers as I have two blank box's for a bridge crew persons to fill to run two of my bridge stations?

    Plus of course as I am now a rear admiral level 50 with a federation enterprise-E type starship called " Firestorm 2 " And have got it very heavy upgraded weapons and shield wise? :D

    I been on and completed many missions,

    But I still need to sort out my crew and those two bridge officers so that in a big fight I can win because those two extra battle stations on my bridge must be filled to help me not keep getting killed as my ship is out matched on the fighting side just because two deck support officers are not manning those two deck stations?

    I have won a lot of big fights in space but also been killed and had my lovely starship blow up when I thought I was winning?

    Anyway thanks again I will check out the infomation and ae if I can do better? ;)

    on the same window you get by clicking U, if you click on the "stations" tab at the top it will pull up all the available bridge officer stations and away team positions, from there you can choose what officers go to which station on your ship (make sure they are all a high enough rank to take advantage of all the abilities available to that station (it doesn't do any good if you put an ensign in a lieutenant commander spot). You can also set the default away team from this screen, they do not have to be different officers from your bridge crew.

    I have found that holding on to the missions that you can turn in that give you a BOFF a good idea until you upgrade your ship and see what slots you have that open. You can end up picking BOFF's that you can't use other than on ground missions. Having say all Science Officers is a bad idea when you need an Engineer to fill that bridge station.

    Thank you to the others whom have also updated me on what else I needed to know about bridge crew skills and how to sort out any other parts of the ship stations etc.?

    You all are great captains, I hope you get yourself's better in the game as time goes by? ;)

    I will check out all the great information all of you have told me and hope to do even better myself too as the game goes on!
