The Level #40 Assault Cruiser comes with: Engineering Cmd Engineering Lt. Cmd Science Lieutenant Tactical Lieutenant Tactical Ensign
Consoles are 3/4/2
The Mirror Assault Cruiser merely switches the Tactical & Science Boff Slots around.
The Level #40 Star Cruiser comes with: Engineering Cmd Engineering Lt. Cmd Tactical Lieutenant Science Lieutenant Science Ensign
Consoles are 2/4/3
The Mirror Star Cruiser again simply switches the Tactical & Science Boff Slots around.
The Assault Cruiser Refit (and subsequently, the Fleet Assault Cruiser) spices things up a bit, and comes with: Engineering Cmd Tactical Lt. Cmd Engineering Lieutenant Universal Lieutenant Tactical Ensign
Fleet Consoles are 4/4/2
The Star Cruiser Refit doesn't exist, though the Fleet Star Cruiser comes with exactly the same Boff Slots as the Level #40 one making the purchase of this vessel somewhat inadequate and pointless.
My request? Whether it be a brand new design, or a revamp of the Star Cruiser line is to reflect that of the Assault Cruiser, thus the Fleet Star Cruiser would have: Engineering Cmd Science Lt. Cmd Engineering Lieutenant Universal Lieutenant Science Ensign
Fleet Consoles are 2/4/4
Whether there is a Star Cruiser Refit released or not to make the jump (and C-Store Sales) is entirely up to Cryptic, but I would like to see the Star Cruiser updated.
The star cruiser has been irrelevant for a long time now. The fleet support cruiser is a far superior science based cruiser. I could see an opposite assault cruiser layout working but I don't know if it would be enough.
I made a suggestion a long time ago to add a hanger bay to the star cruiser. It has the same layout as the Orion flight deck cruiser so it seems like a natural fit.
I would like to see a system put into place that would allow us to make whatever ship we wanted with whatever console placement we wanted but all of those request have fallen on deaf and hateful ears.

The Support Cruiser is quite a tough ship (for a 23rd Century design) though for all intense purposes, that ship shouldn't exist in it's fleet form. This is what irks me when people say we shouldn't have a T5 Exeter; we're able to fly around in Fleet versions of the Excelsior and Ambassador; the latter having more hull strength than the Fleet Assault Cruiser. Where's the logic in that?
The Star Cruiser and Assault Cruiser should have forever stuck together as Sister Ships, each receiving the same treatment. It's an opportunity I think Cryptic missed out on.

Hmm... Not too keen on that idea to be honest with you.

I don't think such a request would ever be made. Think about it, if people could pick any single ship and gear it up exactly how they want it, Cryptic would never be able to sell any other ships. If people wanted a change, they'd just alternate their bridge officers or consoles.
Whilst I can see the appeal here, it isn't very practical from a business point of view.

The glaring fatal flaws in such a system are pretty obvious to anyone not firmly attached to wanting an uber-ship but unwilling to pay for one of the existing ones, so the antipathy isn't really too surprising.

It keeps the general cruiser tone without stepping on the support cruisers' nacelles. To be honest, this old ambassador has actually no place there, just like the Excelsior. I love the Ambassador don't get me wrong, though it really should only be a retrofit, not a fleet grade ship...
EDIT: I would also like a similiar treatment for the Sao Paolo and Bellerophon types
