Just took advantage of the zen sale and now have 4600 zen to my name. Now, I'm wondering, what should I get with it. I've been flying the Galaxy X for a long time now and that has pretty much become the staple of my Fed Engineer.
However, I also run a Tactical at VA as well. The advanced escort has shown me a new way to play and it's quite fun. So, here's my question...
What C Store ships are worth the zen? I've been eyeing the Andorian escorts for a while now. I really like their design but I hear they are quite fragile....but aren't all escorts?
Then there is the Avenger. I hear nothing but good things and it would pose as a nice change of pace for my Engineer, but...goodness, I can't get over that blocky hull design. It's profile view makes me cringe!
So...in all truth, this boils down to a few more questions...
1. How do the Andorian escorts fair? Is the pack worth it or would just one ship suffice?
2. How does the Armitage fair? The concept of a quick escort/carrier hybrid seems pretty awesome, imo.
3. Are there any decent shots of the Avenger? Seriously, those C Store screens make it look terrible. XD
I'm leaning toward an Andorian escort, and the Avenger or Armitage. However, I think I'll kick myself if I just get one Andorian since the price of the set pretty much comes with a free ship.

The Armitage was pretty nice when I last flew it, and I think it still holds up well. Was pretty fun for both my Engineer and Tactical, but my Eng moved to the Breen Warship and then to lockbox ships (in a Jem Dread now) and my Tac was idled in favor of my KDF Tacs until the Avenger came out. The Torp spam console could be a pretty heavy hitter now if you put the Adapted MACO (+25% Torp damage) and the Dyson weapon set (+22% Photon damage) on it, and it wasn't much of a slouch before. The only real downsides is getting the Fleet version requires a Tier 5 shipyard, and that the Ar'kif Retrofit outclasses it, particularly in PvE with it's set giving +10% after weapon power Plamsa damage and the large damage over time beam, as well as having Battle Cloak.
For the Avenger looks, just zone to ESD space and look at the ones there. Usually plenty out and about. The hardest thing that took getting used to looks wise for me was it's size, it is small, smaller than the Vesta in-game.
Kumari, don't own so unsure, but I did learn in the past that buying individual ships instead of 3-packs proved regrettable.
There's also the option of something truly different for your third character. Romulan in a T5 T'varo or Mogai with the appropriate two-piece sets. Or a Klingon with access to the fun consoles like the plasmonic leech. You know you want too......
I'm now leaning toward the Andorian pack since their consoles and set ability looks awesome. Thanks for the input on the Avenger and such. I'll get those during the next sale.
