Camera distance resets on map changes

The camera sometimes resets to a distance very close to your ship when you beam up from the ground to system space or warp out from system space to sector space. This doesn't happen every time, but it happens often enough to be reproducible. This bug is several seasons old now. Here is the last thread on the topic:

Also see Holodeck ticket ID #1,701,381.

... years even. Make an alias and either keybind it or map it to a mouse button/etc. Don't wait for this to get fixed. Assume it won't just like unusable costumes and whatnot.

    in CommandAliases.Txt at "\star trek online\Star Trek Online\Live\localdata"

    add

    alias / "ui_load"

    To use in-game:

    press ENTER

    type '/' twice

    press ENTER again.

To 'save' a particular camera angle (and atually the entire UI configuration, just 'Save UI' from Options.

I have my own keybinds for working around this bug, but I still think it should be fixed.

Camera distance seems to be random at times indeed. Also, in combat, could the camera be made to zoom out as far as in sector space ?! The extra overview could be helpfull in circumstances, like if there are many enemies around you.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

If you do that make it an option you have to turn on, I put my zoom where I want it and that's that.

Back to topic, this camera zoom issue has been around since game launch, it's gotten to where I don't even consider it a bug anymore.

This just happens with certain ships. I noticed it with the Mirror Vo'quv- any time I zoned from a ground map to a space map, the camera would be zoomed all the way in, which fills the screen with ship when you're using the Vo.

But it's definitely not random, it affects some ships.

I don't think it's ship-based. I've seen the bug on cruisers, escorts, and birds of prey. It's possible that it's more noticeable on larger ships, because you normally play with the camera zoomed in closer to smaller ships. Some players have also claimed that they don't have the bug on their older characters, only the newer ones.
