Omega marks increase for normal STFs

Who else thinks that normal STFs should give Omega marks of 30 or 40 just like nukara has with the crystaline entity?

Especially if you have alts and need to grind for gear to be able to run elite STFs.

Or am I just crazy?

I only ever do normal when my toons aren't lvl 50, once you hit 50 you should go straight into the elites since you can do it with common gear. ESTFs have one of the highest mark rewards in the game.

Are elites easy enough for someone without any borg gear? Because the only elites I've done were with friends who had better stuff than I. So they did most damage and tanking.

I've always heard pugs are 50/50 when it comes to being able to complete them on elite. Am I wrong?

AHH ok. Well I'll give them a shot. any advice on which ones are easiest on elite?

the most important thing for doing elite STFs is not gear but knowledge. its knowing the tactics and how to work with a team.

You can run with the breen or jem set in STFs easily no problem, and they are free. There are several missions out there that drop torps and energy weapons of varying types and if you do it at lvl 50 you usually get mk xi blues.

as mentioned before the only reason to do normal is if you are sub 50 or are really inexperienced and are unsure of your knowledge. I would suggest asking some of your friends or fleetmates for help with STFs. If you don't have anybody you would consider reliable to ask for help I will gladly assist you any way I can.

When they eventually remake Omega rep (and the others) to more closely resemble Dyson, they're more likely to reduce the mark reward from Elite STFs. I know they're unhappy that people can just run ISE in a few minutes a day to easily fill everything.

Learning how to do ESTFs correctly is far more important than having a specific set or level of gear. None of us knew what we were doing the first few times we played one. A lot of us learned the hard way by clicking on Engage and then dying regularly. Some of us were smart enough to watch what the other players were doing and copy their actions. Gear isn't required for either of these two.

The only thing which ahem, "Endgame Gear", allows is a player can do something really really stupid once and live to learn from it.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I tried a couple pugs today. ISE and vortex. the first we got the optional and the second we didn't but it was doable.

Why have I heard so many horror stories about elite STFs and pugs? Even if you fail the optional you still get a decent amount of marks.

Because people are only complaining about runs that failed or where something went wrong. No one strides to the forums to report that their last run went "well", "as expected" or "alright". ;)

Grab some friends or a fleet and do Elite, it's stupidly easy. And you get better stuff.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.
