    The TOS uniforms are so iconic that this just looks wrong to me. Like a duck head on a crocodile body.

    Picture movie-era Scotty in one of those sausage-skins from TNG season 1...

    I really like it!
    Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

    I hope STO get's better ...

    Just awful. Just one of the many things TNG got wrong.

    Gold = Command
    Red = Engineering/Security

    It is a tad disconcerting, but I rather like the first Kirk picture. I've never been fond of the collar-less TNG first season uniforms, but the collared ones are all right. The Spock one actually looks imposing, and the "Yesterday's Enterprise" Chekov one almost looks natural.

    I don't suppose they'd consider doing the same using DS9 uniforms?

    I want the reverse - DS9 crew in TOS uniforms.

    Aside from TNG turning that on its head, the whole "red shirt" thing is an overplayed cliche. Engineers died in TOS who were not in Security. Command staff died, etc.

    Space is a dangerous place.

    Actually, the one of Spock, just showing the upper half, kind of made him look pretty menacing. I liked it!

    Sulu, Chekov, Spock and McCoy came out good... in fact, that's actually not a bad look for Spock, really.

    Kirk's kind of... meh.

    For some reason, though, Uhura and Scotty just didn't feel right to me.

    Now if someone would only do the TNG (and maybe even DS9) crew (BESIDES Picard) in the WoK-era uniforms, that would be interesting, I'd think...

    Kirk - Okay, now that looks good on him.

    Spock - I'm starting to think that Spock is one of those characters that can look good in anything.

    McCoy - I don't know, looks too spit-and-polish for my taste. I picture McCoy, I still think of him in the short-sleeve medical uniform leaning on the bridge railing...

    Scotty - Better than the TNG unform, but something's still missing... Maybe it's because I grew up on the movies, but I've always like Scotty better with the mustache...

    Sulu and Chekov - Both make it work.

    Uhura - Okay, but the hoop earrings look more out of place with the 'Dominion War' uniform.

    Chapel - Not bad at all.

    Rand - Beehive....

    Riker actually looks good in gold... Only problem is, shouldn't Troi have been in Sciences blue?

    Probably, though red looks really good on her.

    Wouldn't Data be in command gold? Also, now that I think about it, the DS9 crew shot, why would Dax be in red? Wasn't she sciences?

    Geordi looks great, and Worf looks surprisingly good considering that I hated the short haircut on him.

    Good question.... But for whatever reason Sisko got gold, Dax got red, Bashir got blue, and O'Brien red in the DS9 ep.

    Definately something a Star Trek fan would have to become accustomized to first. But on the other hand if TNG would have had kept the TOS color sceme in the first place maybe we would wonder today how it would look like if they had changed it for some reason. :)

    I wonder why they changed the color pattern in the first place?
    Was it only because of some cast members where felt to look better in certain colors, or was there some other reason?

    I'm sure they thought red was more "powerful" and hence wanted to give their new bald captain a little subconscious lift.
