I've been working on the Dyson Sphere Reputation and I much prefer this to the prior method of reputation.
No cost in expertise, I get to keep all the marks for gear requisitions and I can do it once a day at a time of my choosing instead of having to wait for a bonus mark hour.
So, given that this is clearly a more user (and alt!) friendly system, will Cryptic apply this to the existing Reputation system.
I know I resented every minute I spent working on the old system, to the point where I was in a bad mood at the thought of doing this every day.
But if they converted Omega, Romulan and Nukara Reputation to this system, then I'd be much more engaged in working on them.
Especially with the Sponsorship function which would cut the working time in half.

I believe that is their general plan. But will probably take some time to figure out the details.
I just worry that in their 'standardization' they might end up changing many of the rewards for the STFs, and folks didn't like it the last time they did it.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
The devs have said that if the feedback on the new rep system is positive, then they will eventually change the other reputations to match it. So based on the current feedback, it seems to be only a matter of time. I would assume sometime after the Anniversary event will have this go into effect.
They might as well scrap the Mk X and XI gear entirely. Who needs it? And the fact that they gave those of us who had acquired the Borg set from pre-S7 a Mk XI set was just criminal--it was just so we would be encouraged to spend more to grind to get a Mk XII. And they really need to adjust the way you get the Dominion Mk XII set from Lobi to something else. Either change that or give us a Mk XII Breen set in the Lobi store that gives bonus effects when used on a Chel Grett. Breen BREEN torpedos, not transphasic, I mean like the ones from DS9--the white-ish clear ones that it launched from the orb at the tip, would be a nice addition. If I had a Recluse or an Orb Weaver, I'd toss a thermionic on my Chel just for visual canon.

Actually they should keep the x and xi gear as it currently is for the other reps. This is most important for the omega rep, a set is worthless unless you can get all the parts you need. Doing ground stfs without a full set until you got to tier 5 would be very unpleasent. Making do without a full space set wouldn't be so bad but not something I would be happy about.
Having the mk x version of the sets available at tier 1 lets you get the set bonuses at tier 1 instead of having to wait till you get all the way to tier 5. Even on the dyson rep I would much rather be running a full mk x ground set rather than stuck waiting till i am done grinding the rep to finally get access to the 3 part bonus.
Yes of course the mk xii set should be the final goal as you say, but don't cripple people that are trying to grind rep on a new character.
For the record, I go straight to Mk12 without acquiring the lower level items.
Let's be honest, they cost Omega marks/borg neural processors to get and from a efficiency standpoint, it's more cost effective to save them for the highest level then to exhaust them on low level items I would discard as soon as mk12 is unlocked.
So yes, I'd be perfectly happy if they got rid of the mk10 and mk11 items.
Especially since the low level versions are just adding extra items to my requistion project list......

Same here, unless I go for the fleet stuff. On the ground, I have not noticed a difference in quality between fleet and omega. In space there is no need to buy the gear just for the missions, they can easily be played with exchange gear or the free jem hadar set.

I agree to a point. But I still get some of the lower level sets just to have something solid to use against Borg, at least for an STF ground set. However, I do use it even after I upgrade my captain's stuff to mk XII stuff. I instead give the lower level set to a BOFF, since Cryptic is steadily including more stuff that requires BOFFs at the endgame, it's a bit more important to keep them equipped well.

I've never believed that you need Omega ground sets to fight the Borg.
Just get yourself a remodulator (if you don't own a TR-116a) and you're good to go.
I did use the Omega set once and (from my point of view), it changed nothing from using a standard remodulator.
2 seconds shaved off remodulation cooldown, that was all it did.
So getting yourself a Mk10 or Mk11 Omega ground set isn't going to make fighting the Borg any easier in my opinion.
And by the way, I give my BOFFs the Mk12 gear as well!
No cheap knockoffs for them, they get the topoftheline gear, just like me!

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles
As far as I can see anyway
More user friendly, feels much more rewarding.
