So, not to be overly pessimistic, but when will the real bug fixing begin? There are bugs in the game that have existed for several years, with no apparent fix on the way anytime soon. While some of these bugs can be worked around, it's downright annoying to some of us veterans. I shudder to think how a New Player experiences the game for the very first time.

Not sure what they are doing but they do seem to be on the right track, a lot of old graphical problems are better, like no more blurry moments hm that really doesn't explain much but for those who have had the issue would know. Had to set to over video brightness down to 80% the bright stuff and reflections are just over powering.
No chance of slapping this on the holodeck sooner then the end of the week? Been a while Since I was able to play the game at all do to the crash on start up.
The Spire Fleet Holding is now available in Gateway.
Oh, so you all are working on the Gateway. Could you also fix it so that Contribution sort is numeric instead of alphabetical? Sorting contributions ascending ends up with ~1 Mil contribution users on the first page along with 1, 10, 100,1000, etc. and descending having 9.8 Mil next to 98 on the first page.
EVERYONE please remember how long thursday maintenance windows take. it probably takes the same amount of time for tribble. wait another hour prior to this post THEN try to log in. even though you patch up. the fix might not be completely on tribble yet.

a crash that is keeping people from playing at all is more important right now than a lil graphic bug that only you may see, and as being a vet to this game I am not sure what bugs you are talking about as I don't see 3/4 of the bugs that are always being reported by others and i try to find these so I can help give info to the devs *shrugs* oh well.

So they start fixing some of the major issues preventing a ton of people from playing.. and you act like they aren't fixing anything?

Every time I see a post like this one, I wish the poster had provided some specific examples.
I can't see "Fix The Bugs That Have Been Around A Long Time" being a very helpful statement, when nobody knows which bugs the poster's referring to.
If I were to be cynical, I'd say it's a convenient way for the poster to always be "right," since there will always be bugs to point to regardless of which ones are fixed in the interim. Since no specifics were provided, it's impossible to fulfil the request.
Note: I'm not denying the existence of longstanding bugs; I've got a few pet peeves myself. But can't we talk specifics?
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
I'm surprised (or should I say not surprised) there are 0 bug fixes for Season 8.
Come on dev team, you got people's UI's messed up with consumables and there are S8 missions that are completely bugged. Why is there no priority fixes with those? Or are you going to ignore fixing those missions like you ignored the bugged missions with Season 6, 7, and 8?
You people need to get on the ball and go on some MAJOR bug squashing. Because players are getting fed up with the bugs.

Well, the current major bug preventing players from even launching the game is definitely a "Must fix". That bug did not exist prior to Season 8, which I suppose is par for the course, in that Cryptic always manages to create new bugs with their updates. Meanwhile, older bugs go un-treated. I'll give you a few examples of bugs/issues that annoy me:
1. Invisible torpedoes in STFs (This one's a gamebreaker for me, since it prevents me from effectively defending myself, not to mention being one-shot-kill torpedoes.)
2. Ability Trays constantly being filled up (Extremely annoying to get abilities added to my tray that I did not personally place there. This happens whenever I change map)
3. Poor performance on ground maps (I have an exceptional computer, able to run at Medium or High on most games, some of which far more detailed than STO. On Space maps in STO, the performance is excellent at High. As soon as I enter a Ground map, I need to reduce my settings to Low/Medium for it to be playable)

There, now you've got a few examples.
All of these. Ugh. I hate all of them. they should have been fixed BEFORE season 8.

I agree about the old bugs, but The Great Crash of Season 8 has kept "some"
players (vets to new), out of the game completely since s8 started.
It's perhaps too optimistic at this point, but this patch looks like it could help
the ones, in possession of the Persistent Officer Accolade, myself included,
to actually play when this patch is applied to Holodeck.
It does, after all, feel like years... with a very old bug.
This could very well be my favorite bug fix,... ever.
Sincerely Grateful,
Steve @SCCreations

Haven't been able to play any aspect of this game since last Tuesday, tried it last night on Tribble and was finally able to log in!
Thanks for working so hard to fix this major problem!
Q: [quoting Hartley] "Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays..."
Think i've got you beat on that one. Here's a "random image" of what happened to me (on Holodeck). Mind you, it doesn't happen all the time, but as you'll note, it's rather major.

Bloody hell what does it take to get something rolled back around here? Season Eight should be pulled because the game is unplayable.
