...in some way, resetting the Iconian Gateways and opening up the Solanae Dyson Sphere has had some unintended side-effects.

Most notably the that Jenolan Dyson Sphere has disappeared.

Teaser for the next FE, perhaps?

Head to Tau Dewa, where the Gate is located, and speak to Romulan Intelligence.

Yeah, that caused me to do a double take too.
How can something that huge just disappear? Was it pulled into subspace? Because that's pretty much the only way I can think of.

Most likely, it's probably in the same state that the Jouret Gate was prior to the Reset.

    "Who exactly" what?

    what contact?

As of now, if you go to the Dyson Gate in Tau Dewa Sector space, an option to talk to "Romulan Intelligence" appears. It's in the patch notes from today.

One of the conversation options with this fellow mentions the disappearance of the Jenolan Sphere.

I am sorry .. what is the Jenolan Sphere? So difficult to keep track of things. The story-telling in S8 isn't exactly linear.

Perhaps they plan to use the Jenolan Sphere as a PVP sphere at a future date, like a mix between the current Sphere and Kerrat, but perhaps with different NPC enemies then the Voth, like the Iconians or the Undines or the Borg.

The Jenolan Sphere is from TNG "Relics". Captain Scott was stranded there and was found by the Enterprise-D in 2369. In 2370 the sphere was threatened by a neutron star and saved by the E-D as well (Dyson Sphere novel).

The Jenolan Sphere is the Dyson Sphere from TNG, named for the USS Jenolan, which discovered and subsequently crashed into it.
