I would watch an entire series with McGann as the Doctor.
Me too, and seeing this minisode really brought it home to me that McGann deserves to get his own series. He was excellent in this feature, and it gave us a brief glimpse to what we could expect.
I hope the BBC sit up and take notice of how good he was and do a spin-off series.
There won't be any spin off series, don't torment yourself with the thought... McGann was amazing in the feature, and this minisode certainly showed that he would have been incredibly watchable in a series. One thing is for sure, it was amazing to see the Eighth Doctor again, albeit briefly, proof that he was indeed perfect for the role

Surely they could find a way to have 8 intersect a few more times with the future Doctors. McGann is amazing, and I knew that as soon as I watched the TV movie. If it had not been hampered by shoddy writing...*sigh*
Well at least he had one more great, if short, run on the screen.

Though why 8 didn't get back in the TARDIS, I don't understand.
He mentions 3-4 companions - easily 4-6 seasons with Paul as the Doctor......
I'm guessing these are companions from the audio books?
OH WOW....just found out what is probably the reason why the Night of the Doctor must have been chosen to broadcast today...cool! What a great birthday gift!
I'm hoping that, since they got him back, and since he's clearly still interested in Who, that he'll make a guest appearance in the 50th. If they managed to keep his return a secret, maybe that means we'll get Nine in the ep as well. An 8-11 crossover would be awesome.
This has nothing to do with the Doctor #8 mini-episode, which I enjoyed, but with the final scene of "Name of the Doctor".
When John Hurt's Doctor said to Matt Smith's Doctor, "I didn't have a choice", I shook my head and sighed. Whatever decision he made, whether he agreed with it or not, whether it was the lesser of two evils, whether he chose to do something or chose to do nothing, it all counts as a choice (Rush's song, "Freewill": "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice"). Refusal to take responsibility for the consequences of your actions does not excuse you if you're an adult. You're not a child anymore. There isn't a mommy or daddy to bail you out every time you make a mistake. Surely the Doctor realizes this, since he's supposed to be a genius and all (which is why I was surprised by Doctor #4's defense of childishness; I think he meant "childlike", but he said "childish").
The bbc will be showing all four eps of the very first adventure of the doctor on thursday 21st of november from 22:30 on bbc 4. so all you young peep's can see how it all began.

He did make a choice, but it was a choice he could never see himself choosing, it's a bit of a stretch but it still makes sense.

So the BBC has settled this person's suit about his dad having the rights to the TARDIS then? Since, at least in the linked article, the BBC pulled plans to show a restored version of the first Hartnell ep earlier this year. Now if BBC America could run a slot or two of the older Who eps on a continual basis, that'd be cool...
Thank you for the time...

This answers a few questions, and gives us enough 'material' to figure out how Doctor Who continues beyond the 12th.....
....................................................... That's the sound of my mind being blown away.
It's awesome to see Mcgann back, I wish there would be more of him.
not bad for a minisode.
Looking forward to the 23rd.

Would you be willing to listen to him instead?

Absolutely

Why do I get the impression that this mini episode just gave Big Finish a huge boost in sales?
They have their own celebration story "The Light at the End" that gave them that, also crashed their servers with the popular demand

When McGann showed up, I uttered a girlish squee.
The Doctor: Ginger.
Ohila: Sorry, what?
The Doctor: Ginger.
Ohila: Um...we're fresh out.
The Doctor: <Sigh> Okay, warrior then.
