Is it worth the 800 lobi to grab this vessel for a SCI captain?
I'm currently in the Tholian Recluse but I'm wanting to get back to my SCI roots and just wondering if I should get the Voth or Wells.
Which do you think is better for the SCI captain? Which do you think would be the better investment, long-term?
Right now, because it's the newest toy, I'm wanting to get the Voth SCI ship; however, I know the Wells is good in its own respect. My big thing is I use a LOT of SCI skills on my BOFFs so it makes more sense to have more SCI console slots.
For a FED SCI, i highly doubt you'd REALLY want one outside of the special console if you got the voth cruiser ALSO.
If you want a FED "standard" equivalent, go for the sci-focused vesta or the FDSSV (Fleet Deep Space Science Vessel).
Well's the safest bet at this point, since it can use the temporal lobi set (Dual beam + temp disruption device + tachyokinetic converter) at it's full potential.
So because it's the only 5 console KFD sci ship it's useful for them but garbage for FEDs? Heresy!
well i wouldn't say its garbage for feds. for fed players the voth ship fills the gap for players that A:don't have a fleet and can't get fleet sci ships B: can't afford a Wells class off the exchange.

If a Fed toon wants to go with a drain build, this is probably the go-to ship since that console gives you yet one more drain to use. On the KDF side you can also use the Aceton Assimilator console therefore being able to be even more effective. Otherwise, if you want to be a Fed sci toon that can use DHCs, then yes, the Wells or the Vesta are better options.
Nobody seems to be talking about this ship much, but I just got it and I love it. Having two LtCmdr stations is a godsend since Eng and Sci both have their best crowd control and exotic damage abilities there. Five Sci consoles allow you to rack up the exotic damage and drain abilities (especially with the Voth reputation consoles). I don't know about the rest of the reputation set though; I prefer covariant shields over regenerative.
I'll finish rounding out my build with fleet gear and then will become the emperor of debuffs.
