I've been a fed eng in cruiser with tank/healer and dps builds for about a year 6/hrs/day avg , but since a little after the start of LOR and most certainly after 10/24 patch for some reason, I just cant tank as well as I used to, other engineer capt's have noticed as well. How are we supposed to in an PVP anchor/tank role, heal the team if only 1-2 escorts or sci cruiser can take you out in 2 seconds in 1 pass with all pwr lvls high in shld and aux and dmg resists abilities skills EP2 Subsys timing combined/stacked etc? It just doesn't work anymore not for the fed side anyway. I hope a little more balance will be applied soon towards at least engineer captains healing abilities as they are definitely lacking.

Power creep springs to mind.... only way is to adapt and continnue testing new builds and get better.

Just because a build worked for x time, doesn't mean it will work indefinately

I think i noticed this to with the patch on 10/24.... But I'm not sure I only had time for one pvp match on friday. There isn't anything listed in the patch notes that says this. I figured it might have just been me up against a good team of pvper's I will see more today though

After playing a few matches I can't tell either way not sure if anything happened though some escorts are hitting insanely hard now. But that could be just their personal skill and gear.

I've tanked in an Odyssey and I am tanking now in an Avenger, and to be blunt, nothings changed for me. I was tanking before I realized, when I got back, that I had to change my traits, and once I did that, everything only got even easier then. Miracle Worker isn't even a big deal though I do have the trait that makes it refresh fast, I rarely use it.

So, as other's have pointed out, your build, your crew, and your DO's might have a large reason to do with your tanking problems. Movement is also helpful.

At the current state of the game, it's not enough to simply shield tank. Sometimes the best way to survive attacks is to just move out of the way. That being said, even cruisers have to rely on some Defense (aka speed tanking) to survive as well. Mobility is not just for escorts now.

Ghats odd, I've been feeling more tanky as of late. Maybe it a difference in technique?

Just ran into a tac in a Adapted Battle-cruiser (on the weekend) that was darn near impossible to kill. We had 3 people with over 4 million damage each on him and the only time we killed him was when a rather whiny sci decided to help us and subnuc him (he than left after claiming we weren't healing him, which our dedicated healer was wasting all his time doing since his ship was so squishy). If it had been an engineer in that thing, I'd say it would of been even harder and we may not have gotten that one kill off him.

The changes to leadership BOFFS and the shield distribution DOFFS are probably why it feels less "tanky" since LOR launched OP. That said, I am not noticing it myself, other than the fact that I now have to use a hull healing power from time to time.
Other than that, try to remove all the gear from your ship and equip it again, I recall a bug that was never fixed that could make you really squishy until you did that.

Alien Fed engineer in a Fed cruiser, yes. Tanking is not changed since pre-LoR, apart from the recent addition of the Attract Fire command.

It is getting more challenging, as now I have to tank for 30k Scimitars. Threat generation alone isn't enough, I have to have 5-figure DPS plus high Threat to draw fire from them. But that's an easily overcome problem, as cruisers nowadays have no problem topping 12k-15k.

    Hello,

I've been tanking for quite sometime in my Andorian for my first & 2nd characters and haven't noticed much difference in awhile.
I've been tanking in T'varo's with my Rom Engineer for quite sometime and haven't noticed much either.

Just after LoR went live I did notice a bit of a change - and started to change things out quite often, then just posted for suggestions and stuck with that build because every time I changed something 'things' didn't seem good or got worse.

Doesn't evasion cap out at 24 impulse? I have notice people going straight through my shields. I am looking for away to make a strong armor/hull tank now.
