A little late I know (reputation feedback)

I know this is about a year overdue, but the reputation system being the ONLY way to get the armors/weapons/ship sets, is just boring as hell!.

I miss the old days when going into an STF had a gambling chance, and some fun of what you found.

and so what if other people have played for months and didn't get that final piece, you don't lock it away, you add more content along with it, not everyone gets that uber piece.

Elite Fleet gear is another way -- though it won't be set gear, but arguably competitive with each other.
Said NO to Arc. Gets punished by not being given a free outfit, free lobi, and free shuttle. Now forced to use Arc's site when trying to get to STO site. Still not rewards for beta testing the Arc website by force. Bravo Cryptic.

The weapon sets are limited to reputation and lobi store, but the space sets are not. There is the Aegis set from Crafting and the Breen and Jem'Hadar set from missions. There is also the Jem'Hadar ground set from missions.

The old STF system sucked. If some people played 300 Elite STFs and didn't get a single Elite drop and others just played 1 STF and got the Elite drop, then there is something horribly wrong with the system.

Agreed. But that doesn't make the current system much better.

That is debatable depending on the person. Some people prefer a guaranteed reward if they put enough work to get it. I only did STFs before Season 7 to get the Borg Set. If the changes in Season 7 never occurred, then I would have never obtained all 3 STF Mk XII ground sets. I am not the only one that would have done something similar.

I for one prefer the rep system of guarantee vs random loot gen odds. :P

EDIT: My only problem is they seem to like to make the romulan and nukara gear require more marks than omega, yet the omega marks are faster achieved.

I understand that but it was frustrating when people would get the same drop for gear they already had, building a set shouldn't be like the lockbox lotto.

Now a toke drop that could be turned in for the piece a player is missing would work and has been done in other MMOs.

Still most players prefer this system, one that doesn't force groups or pugs on casual players. Besides there are sets available to new players via the episodes now that are perfect for starting out at 50.

At least, after you get all you need form the rep, you can just trade the marks in for dilithium. When the RNG is good, the elite STFs throw plenty of stuff to turn into dil.

I remember having too much of one thing (Borg engines come to mind), at one point I had to RECYCLE some things, how crazy is that now a days?

I agree. Getting Omega marks is so fast and easy. Romulan is a little slower but Nukara is slower still.

Me too!! I thought of it as just another way to make EC. Can you imagine doing that these days?!?

Although it is slower, if you don't mind going to Nukra Prime getting Nukra marks is faster then Rommie marks, atleast it works out that way for me. I can get several hundred nukra marks in about 2 hours alternating between a ext easy/med run then a cce run then back to ext easy/med, vs various rommie ques or longer missions that pay out fewer marks on New Rom. The only "big" Rom marks I get is from tagging but that can take about a week to pay out the 400 marks so that isn't really fast either.
