Free Ship Problem After Finishing Mission!

Greetings Fellow Players!

I have a small but important problem when play star trek online?

I worked hard and done some even harder fighting with my 1st ship in the many missions I was sent on by starfleet,

But here's the problem?

I worked upto now a Commander level 3 and after help wolf with the gateway mission I returned to space dock to get my rewards for finishing that hard mission, But the problem is this:

As part of the rewards I got was a free ship option?

I was told to goto the star fleet shipyads to have my picked bigger better starship I picked out from a list for my new rank at the spacedock ship lists?

But I at first could not see were those shipyards were?
Then afte going pass the spacedock.

I found them lined up near earth high orbit near a station and thought,

Ok I must need to park my old small frigate in one of the empty starship docks and then get my new ship given to me?

Since no one had told me any thing but to go to those starfleet shipyards?

Nothing happened?

So why and how do I get this free starship,
That I picked out of the list for my rank after finishing my mission?

After all I earned it and was told to pick one as my small frigate is even with upgrades being blown out by the enemies far to much to do some of the many missions still to do?

Any help would be great?

If you are talking about the free obelisk carrier, she should be on a box in your inventory.

However I think you must be Vice Admiral level 50 (or is Rear Admiral at 40? I'm not sure about this, and the Dev Blog page isn't loading so I can't confirm this right now ) before you can open that box.

Also you should be able to get a free ship every 10 leves up to level 40.
You need to do the 'promotion' mission first, the go to the shipyard, and you should have a token for a free ship. I've heard this mission sometimes gets bugged so if you didn't got your token try again

Every 10 levels, you may return to Admiral Quinn on Earth Spacedock. He typically hails you with a mission titled [Promotion]: <Rank>. Pick up this mission and travel back to Earth Spacedock.

Go to Admiral Quinn's office.
Talk to Admiral Quinn.
Walk out of Admiral Quinn's office and start walking left down the hallway.
This area has several engineering officers and a turbolift right around the corner from Quinn's office.
Take the turbolift to deck 2, this is the shipyard.
In the far right corner of the room there is the Ship requisition officer.
Speak with her and click "Browse Selection" after getting through the dialogue.
Now, turn around and walk back up the stairs toward the turbolift.
There is a Starfleet Officer with a Yellow starship icon above his head at the top of the stairs.
Talk to him, select the ship you just purchased from the list, and click the "Ready Starship" button in the bottom right corner.
Congratulations, you now have your new ship.

To be clear...... You are talking about the ship from ?Sphere of Influence?. Where you help Worf and rescue Shon....

If so, kaiser is correct. The ship is a T5 Rear Admiral ship. Once you reach that rank, you can unlock it.

I just was able to read the dev blog again and it says it's a level 40 ship http://sto.perfectworld.com/news/?p=1020331

But the OP should have a box with the carrier on his inventory.

I did all what you said already and as for my rank I got the level number wrong!

I am now a commander, but with a (21) after it.

I just tried again to get this free ship after doing all that you said?

Still nothing?

My ship keeps getting blown up in the regulus / orion battle no matter the weapons or shields or tactics I use?

To many orion ships to fight at once about 10 I think all swam onto my small frigate and I tried so many ways to beat them and win?
But can be destoryed in a couple of minutes!

So I thought I must get a bigger more powerful starship, But even though I've been promoted upto commander (21) level and got good deck officers and better weapons and sheilds and all the stuff needed by a good starship and keep n top of the shields and repairs and weapons controls etc. I still get killed quickly?

My ZEN is: 0
My Refined Dilithium is: 130
My Space Spent is: 29.000
My Ground Spent is: 29.000
My Avilable is: 1.347

So when I looked in the change ship area the next class of ship they wished me to pay 40.000 zen for that next class?

I only got 0 zen!

Yet I was told as I was now a commander (21) level I could get a free starship?
I have yet to get one? Plus I can't even change my uniform to another one either?

What can I do to change the lack of zen and the best way to get that free ship etc.?

You get a free ship at level 20. Follow the directions above to get it. The free ship from the Featured Episode (the Obelisk) is not available until you are level 40

Yes at long last I got my new starship!

It must been the way I did it the first time and did some thing out of place or what ever?
The thing is I now have my heavy cruiser with 4 Naecels not 2 like my frigate had?

I found that when you goto that guy with the yellow ship above him to pick your ship you just looked up at the ship list desk, I found I had 3 ships there?

The 1st one of course was my old 1st ever starting frigate, then the 2nd was the ship had tried to replace the frigate with but had for some odd reason not shown up the 1st time I went through picking up my reward of a free ship after a promotion was given to me from ensign to the next rank! Also there was the 3rd ship I picked just now ( 10th nov ) after reading all your help again, this meant I in fact now had 3 ships in the list?

the 1st starting one
the 2nd picked replacement one for the starting off ship
the now new 3rd at last picked to use 4 naecel heavy cruiser.

I found the if you picked the 1st ship you ever had that frigate, as your ship you could press "U" on the keyboard and that brings up the list of fitted weapons, shields, etc. of that ship and then you can right click on each one of them and a small menu lets you "dis-use" that item it them is taken out of the box of the area of the old ship used it in!
And I walk abit back to the turbolift, stop walk back to the ship guy and pick the other ship I had and strip out it's weapons etc.

Then do the walk back abit and back to him pick you newest ship from te left list press "U" and all those dis-used weapons, shields, etc. are there in the boxs of that list of parts and weapons and personnel stuff, And this means you got access to the other two ships items to put into you new ship if they are better than the parts you see already fitted in the new ship? Brill.

Now a new problem for you great helpful players who was so good to help me get the new ship at last?

I have a roster of my 20 deck officers from the 1st ship I had listed with all their skills etc.
But even though they are listed in the roster for use on the ship, when I beam back onboard the new ship near space dock I find no deck officers from the roster list I set up on the space dock from my old ship?

How do I get them in the places onboard at the stations they are meant to be running like the old 1st ship had?

Sorry about this,

But I just don't know why they are listed for active use on the ship, like weapons officer etc.

But all the boxs on the new ship for the many stations to control the ship are blank and none of them are there?

So why are they not at the deck stations I got them set for?
And how do I get them in the right stations for them to help me with my ship?

Any help would be great as it is a real pain to get the new ship and even pick out the and swap items like weapons etc. from those two other ships and then to beam back to find no deck crew there?

If you're referring to your bridge officers that give your ship its active powers, press 'U' and click the "Stations" tab. The first set of drop-down menus is for your boffs.

Stuff like this is why it's a good idea to actually read what the NPCs are telling you.
