So, with some attention being paid to new interiors, apparently "for all Federation ships", will I finally be able to switch my Kumari Escort's interior to one that is, you know, an interior, and not just a bridge? A new Andorian-only interior would be indulgent, I know; I just want to use what we've already got.

It was kind of a let-down that $50 worth of Zen later I can't have a drink with Fleet buddies in the lounge after phasering things into oblivion. Or look at trophies. Or visit engineering. Or. Or. Or.

Loved playing it on Tribble. Finally a bridge that fits the beginner ship. Was going crazy seeing them use those massive bridges on a Miranda class vessel.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product next week.

Now, all we need is a Vesta bridge! ;)

This.... Mostly, Modularizing the Warp Core chambers to reflect our currently fitted in-game warp core(maybe slightly modified with 2409 tech)

Actually having the observation lounge as part of the ship interior set, finally...

also.... and i know this is like trying to find a unicorn.....

Some KDF interior love to reflect the clean, not so "blood on everything," look the Bortasqu bridge gave us with its, admittedly, beautiful interior....

    Well, this is looking great.

Now, there are a few questions that are coming to mind after reading this blog.
    1) (When) are we going to get these interiors available to our ships?
    2) Will these changes be automatically retrofit in any existing ship, or are we going to have to manually edit this in a shipyard?
    3) (a little off-topic concerning the Environment Artist team) Is Tutorial replay currently on the design branch for future updates? I can always replay them on Tribble, but for those that don't have tribble and want to play through the amazing Romulan and great Klingon tutorial again without creating new chars/accounts, this would be a very nice add-on. Sometimes I wish that my Romulan (and my Rahmulan XD) were capable of going back to unbombarded Virinat. There are so many hints back in later episodes I want to re-explore Virinat.

I would like to see the older bridges for the ships as I want it from this website.

    http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/gallery/bridges1.htm

We have TOS bridge for Constitution, TNG bridge for Galaxy, DS9 bridge for the Belfast (Defiant), VOY bridge for the Intrepid and Enterprise E bridge on Star Trek Online.

We still don't have the bridge yet like Enterprise 1701 Star Trek I - III, Enterprise A Star Trek IV - VI.

We do not either have the Excelsior bridges and the Ambassador bridge.

I want the Constellation bridge if it will be the Stargazer or the Hathaway. Someday the ship will be released.

Even also the bridges for the Nebula class.

The battle bridge is a must for the Galaxy class!!

Prometheus class bridge definetly yes and even also a bridge for the Nova class.

Even also a bridge for the Enterprise NX-01.

I am wondering why they didn't put these one into the ships.

Credit where credit is due. The interior looks amazing and not that plastic. Especially the hallways/corridors. Great job!

Like the direction your going here! I love the corridors!

    I have two questions though.

    1) Will there be any different bridge designs in the future for smaller/escort/combat type ships?
    2) Is there any chance of a new main engineering? :D:P

While I'm still a little miffed that the Vesta is still the only $50 three pack ship that doesn't have it's own unique bridge, this may make up for it a little. It will go nicely as the placeholder bridge for my Vesta until a proper one is released.

I do love the looks of the new interior, based on my run through the new tutorial on Tribble, however the doors still look flat, matte, washed out'ish...can't even tell the door separates down the middle (which I'm guessing isn't an intended look for the doors).

So I'm still hoping the doors get a revamp before too long, and while I understand the need to have them as big as they are, I'd still prefer things a little smaller, just a mite bit.

I am concerned though that while we'll get these awesome new interior bits to use for our own ships soon, that they might replace current interiors, say the original starter bridge and corridor sets we can already use. I would suggest we have these new interiors IN ADDITION to what we already have as opposed to complete replacement, giving us our options to use on different ships we own.

Not only that, but that it's kept open that we can swap this and any other new bridges with other interiors instead of being stuck with a set interior for a set bridge. I understand why the TOS bridge, for instance, may not be combined with a 2409-based corridor, but this should be fine for the rest of the more modern-appearing interiors.

Also, *coughs* TMP-era interiors *coughs* someday...maybe?

I'm with you there. Every time they post something about a new ship or a new major release, I mention that I hope a Vesta bridge will come with it. And I'm not going to stop until they give us one.

All the other 3-packs had one, the Vesta (and those who paid for it) deserve a bridge.

All I can think to say is....finally!!! I've been waiting for decent interiors for my Fed ships since I started playing, and these look far more like what they should have been all along!

I -am- hoping, as others seem to be, that the Engineering and other spaces get a workover (though I personally love the Ready Room as is).

About the only thing that I could really, really, -REALLY- hope for is that the blinding and distracting 'flame' effect on all the interactive consoles on my interiors go AWAY!!!! Even the interior styling was not as disruptive to my spending time inside my ship as this single, unavoidable, unable-to-be-deactivated 'feature' which has single-handedly rendered any time spent on my ships a study in frustration and irritation.

Corridor designs, cool. Bridge, looks pretty neat.

    HOWEVER...

    - Doors are far too big unless you plan on having T-rex's roam the ship?
    - JJ style window/view screen... WHY?! WHY??? The Miranda doesn't have it, so why now? It's just stupid and doesn't fit with canon at all. Sure the oddy bridge has a viewing area, right at the front as well as a viewing screen!
    - LCARS is the horrible blue again, should have gone for something more akin to the holographic consoles from the Odyssey or at least use that colour palette for a flat surface. Just makes things look too blue overall.
    - No new ready room? Don't leave a job half finished.

You proved to us that you can make interiors cool with the Romulan bridge/interior. The bridge was the perfect size, the ready room amazing. The corridors were great and the captains quarters and "ten forward" were great too. Only the engine room was oversized, but even that was cool with the huge rotating singularity.

So why now, for the love of God have you gone back a few pages and stuck yet another massively oversized interior for the feds? I love the designs guys, but seriously scale the bloody things down.

So, I honestly hope this means player ship interior hallways for Fed ships will now use these new (very good looking) corridors.

[It would also be cool if all the other ship interior missions could be re-touched to use these as well.]

Only the Origins Bridge will be available at Season 8 launch as the new default bridge option. I hope we can get the hallways in in a future update, but I don't have an ETA on if/when. I'll most definitely pass along the feedback as I think everyone would like to see them.

Oh yeah, if we could have these interiors for some of the Federation missions it would be fantastic. Imagine doing Deja Q (I think that's the mission name), going back to Wolf 359 and taking eliminating the Borg onboard the Saratoga.

Thanks for passing our feedback along Branflakes :).

While I do love the look of the bridge and corridors, and appreciate the work that went into them... Id like to express a few things...
1)Can you go and FIX any of the umpteen bugs in romulan and klingon content before spending months on federation interiors?
2)Can you try adding more romulan and klingon interiors/bridges for a change? The federation side is flooded with tons of content.
3)How about just giving the KDF side some new stuff for a change at all, then the romulans, again the Fed side has 10x the outfits, bridges, ship customization options, etc of the other 2 factions combined.
3)I kow you will ignore this one, but MAKE ROMULANS THEIR OWN FACTION FFS! That was really lame and cheap on your part to spend months advertising 'march beneath the raptor's wings' then give us a pansey TRIBBLE wanna-be federation pseudo faction that begs for scraps from the Red vs Blue gameplay

all that said.. these really do look awesome

I completely agree and you also need to open the other decks of ships like the obelisk, and not to mention MORE ROMULAN SHIPS. I will say that the federation did need a new bridge design tho.

    "If"

Figures. Another cool feature that is very much requested by the players. But again, released half-baked, half-finished, with an intention to finish "If there's time, sometime in the future, but not currently scheduled."

Sorry, but as cool as the new bridge (and tutorial corridors) are, they are essentially useless to a Veteran FED player. The new tutorial is only playable by NEW players as far as I'm aware.

You do realize, you paint a rather ugly picture for these so-called "NEW" players? A revamped, totally new tutorial, with cool looking corridors, and a relatively decent sized bridge. And once the tutorial is complete, you are left with the bridge (as default), but still stuck with the existing supersized corridors and interiors. If I were one of these NEW players, i'd be very much put-off by what effectively amounts to a half-broken introduction to the game, with haphazard designs.

My question is that if it's not going to be available when Season 8 goes live and may or may not go live after.. what was the point of the blog with the interior. Should have just done the bridge.

Like many of the others I love the new design save for those massive, MASSIVE doors. That's my only real beef, beyond that, great work!

Edit: Of course, now I realize that the doors have to be that big for our new dinosaur BOFFs to walk around, right? ;)

Now I really want to see a Next Generation bridge pack even more, those new corridors really have me hoping! :D

Please make the interior available. It looks awesome. :D

And am I correct to assume the new bridge will be made available for free? Because it would be perfect for my assault cruiser refit (regent) ship I recently bought for 1 of my characters.

P.S. I read the dev blog just after getting home from buying a second $20 Zen card at gamestop this month. I'm glad I did. :)

How come it really 'is' only bridges that get any kind of update? Are having hallways that match on ships, 'that' much of a problem to create as well? Or is it about problems with server space or such? It just feels seriously dated to keep using the same old hallways, with this new bridge, or just the Aquarius bridge, on the Odyssey.

As to size, STOP ye all feeling like I need to captain my ship, in a coffin! I like big ship interiors! I actually wish for more consoles, wall doodads, and more boff slot spots on my interiors. I mean some of these ships are crewed by LARGE crews, after all, and I'd like some options to 'show' this, for ship interiors, someday.

As to the new bridge itself, having an updated ready room would be nice too, but 'also' added, would be an adjoined conference room, since a lot of Trek moments, were decided with such a room in mind. If anything, the ship interior was as much a 'star' of Star Trek, as were the characters and the settings away from the ship, and I don't feel that the ship interior setting is being 'praised' enough, in this game.

Call me geeky, but I feel that way.

But, the direction of the new ship interiors and the bridge, is in the right direction. I'd like to have it as an option for my ship interior, as well, once we get past the Dyson Sphere jazz. And fix the Boff and uniform problems, while ye all are at it already too, sheesh.

Jeff ?LCDRMiller? Miller, you've done a great job here. Curved corridors is definitely star trek. Anyway, can you put our boff and doff in corresponding area of ship?
Like engineering bridge officer in Engineering room instead of all of them just sitting on the bridge? And talking to them will open assignment dialog. Nor just standard officer.
Also wanted to have doff walking and wandering in the hallway of the ship, instead of just random people we don't know :).

[*]Glass Panel in front of the Captain.
Glass panel? Last I checked all transparent materials were made of transparent aluminum in Star Trek.
[*]Helm and Ops not being next to the Captain like in Star Trek, instead they are off in the corner as if they were bad (could you imagine looking at a view screen at that angle?)
Why would the helm or Ops officer even need to see the view screen? The whole point of a bridge being on deck 1 at the top of the ship is ludicrous in itself, let alone having a personal window out in space. Realistically, a ship like this would have their CIC internal to the ship, somewhere in the middle of it, not in an easily targeted and destructible section of the ship, and a view screen is moot as a helm and ops officer would be reading information on their console. I hate to point it out, but honestly a realistic bridge would be more like how CIC was in the new BSG series (despite how awful that is) or just Ops in DS9 for an idea.

And as a final point, all stations on a bridge are universal. Any station on the bridge can serve as ops, navigation, engineering, science, tactical, etc. Though the show typically gravitated to specific positions, it has been shown before and demonstrated.
[*]New Doors not going well with the new interior. (Rather go back to the True-Trek style sliding doors).
Brown is not a color I would choose, but making them stand out helps, I guess.
      [*]No Ship Plaque
Probably some technical issues trying to get a plaque in that would actually display your ship info instead of some generic or fuzzy image.
[*]And in the Tutorial, when at Red Alert, all the panels are showing "red alert", instead of Red Alert indicator lights.
Actually the panels usually showed a mix of Red Alert and lights.
[*]Reuse of old Federation Panels. (Felt out of place with the new art, using mix of old).
Dunno why the panel design would change any. Seemed to fit nicely in my play through.

Well, I hope that the other rooms get a polish pass (Engineering, ready room, captain's quarters, etc.) if it's not ready for season 8 launch, because the Fed interior looks awful compared to the awesome Romulan one.
