..and now THIS (outrage ahoy!!)

So once upon a time, those wonderful Diplomatic Exchange Bridge Officers you got for running up the score for DXP were trade-able. I know because I have one main toon with three of them. Used to buy them off the exchange for insane amounts of EC.

So I ran another toon up in DXP... fully expecting to drop my newly acquired Orion Engineering Officer into the mail in exchange for a thing... Deal between friends. Trustworthy friend and all that.

Lo, the Exchange Officer is BOUND to that toon and CANNOT be traded. At all. Or at least without me breaking into Cryptic and altering the servers. Believe me, I won't, because I suck at server-altering. ;)

ANYWAY. When was this outrage foisted upon us? Does anyone recall? Patch-notes would be helpful... or was it a STEALTH OUTRAGE, perpetuated upon us with maximum DEV-LULZS catching us (or ME at least) totally unaware?

I shall sit here and sip my tomato soup until an answer is had. And believe me I have A LOT OF TOMATO SOUP.

when was this officer tradeable? It was bound when i got it, and that was PRE-DOFF.

I believe you can still trade them to a friend face to face but I guess they could have changed that as well...
    Well I can't forget a face but I won't remember y'all.

These BOFFs were indeed tradeable once (I believe you had to trade or sell the BOFF off before you could claim another). I thought this was before the DOFF version of diplomacy went live (before season 4?), but it has been a long time.

If you were already an ambassador when the change came about and you had the normal boffs. You were given the exact same boff but purple in rarity and they were tradable.

OP, you wouldn't happen to have items on the character when you attempted to trade, now would you?

Items on a BOFF, prevents it from being traded. :P

No technically it's still "packaged," is that the problem perhaps? Do I have to add her to my crew first THEN attempt to sell her?

AM I DOING THIS WRONG PERHAPS!?

i think you cant trade "unique" bo's through the mail. it has to be face to face trading.

No... You could trade and sell them. I picked up an orion female for 25,000 ec not too long ago and resold her for 45,000,000 but that is gone now I believe.

It must have been awhile since you last got a Diplomatic BO... They were made 'Bind on Pickup' towards the end of the second year of STO. This was around the time of the first major UI revamp, with the introduction of Shooter Mode... And it was mentioned in the release notes at the time, so this wasn't a stealth nerf... So only the early 'Legacy' Diplomatic BOs can be traded, which is why the commanded such a high price on the Exchange.

I still have a Fed Female Orion Exchange BO on one of my Alts, stored as a long term investment...

Ok, thank you for clearing this up.

Now I will go forth and drink some more wine. For I am not nearly drunk enough.

Have 2 Orion Female B.O.. Second one was given to me when a friend dropped one of his characters' and they are both unbound. To trade them you have to take off all equipment and supplies, then do face to face trading. You can not mail them. :D

Once any BO is commissioned, they can no longer be mailed. A 'Legacy' Diplomatic Exchange BO can be Emailed, or posted on the Exchange as long as they are non-commissioned. (I just checked with my Purple Fed Orion Sci Exchange BO...)

Where do you obtain the purple version? I still have the original common (white) one with no option that I can see to trade up to a purple one.

They can still be traded via trade window once they've been commissioned.

My Main Fed Engineer has both a common and a purple Gorn Exchange BO. You need to talk to the Diplomatic Contact, (face to face, not remotely...) to get the now 'normal' purple version...

The other day I tried to get a friend of mine to train the purple Jem'Hadar boff you get from doing the Cardassian mission, Faculty 4028. I could not trade that boff to the player for training even though he did not have that boff on his crew....we were standing face to face at ESD.

All of the 'unique' BO, limited to one per character, are either 'bind on pickup' or 'bind on use' and cannot be traded once their are commissioned.

Okay here's what you do, commission the boff, trade the boff to trustworthy friend/alt account, have friend/alt trade boff back to desired character. Success.

You realize, of course, that now that you've stated this publicly, the day after you sell this boff, PWE will announce that STO will shut down.

Did you check your reserve list? Mine just showed up on the list, I didn't have to do anything.

If not talk to Sugihara in Quinn's office like the other guy said.
