20k DPS builds

So... serious question for all those who talk about 'lolGround'.

At what point will 20k+ DPS builds turn the apparently very serious business of STO space combat into 'lolSpace'?

    Isn't it kinda lolSpace now? I mean if you actually have people who know what they're doing and not just some pug who doesn't listen and doesn't care?

    Considering all the STFs have been beaten by starter frigates, I don't know that space has ever been 'serious' outside of PVP.


    Honestly though, I've been rather pleased by the Voth encounters on Tribble. Their battleships are definitely closer to parity with player ships and even my more powerful characters, who can practically solo STFs, have to give their reinforcement battlegroups proper respect.

    While they'll definitely go down faster with the swarm of players when it launches, I expect there to be a lot of exploding player ships - especially among the newer players/alts.

    voth upto the far more serious stuff like the t-rex and battleships and higher, they do become a problem but anything under that like the mechs and cruisers is just fodder for the nanite disruptor shotgun, various engineering abilities and the fleet v'taro a fleet once let me buy from their fleet a while back.

    I suppose the 'lol' prefix in both cases is for slightly different reasons. I hope the changes coming with season 8 take steps in this direction, as seems to have been suggested.
