1st ground mission how to finish it and move on?

Hello and many greetings to my fellow star trek online players!

I installed this game some time ago ( about a year back I think now )
I started as you do with the getting used to being a star ship captain and fighting in my

1st ever mission which it turned out was in space fighting the Borg Cubes with my small star ship and I was there with other star ships which must have been other people online starting to play this great game for the 1st time like me?

So after a short and mad space fight we all beat the borg cubes and then I was transported to a planet mission for the 1st time then to?

Called the VEGA Mission.

It seems to be were you and otherplayers run around saving people at this base from the borg by shooting 3 borg per person who is under attack from them?

Now I did this for ages loosing count of the amount of borg killed and fed poeple saved?

I even found there were ground 3 story high borg small cube towers were some borg come in 3's from or went to which you and other players attacked?

You had to shoot two borg turrets first on tall poles and then scan the main pole with the borg interface computer with your tricoder to take down the sheild so you lot could kill the 3 borgs in their acoves?

Now I did this for weeks and fpound that I could not work out how to end the mission and go on to the next one?

So what the heck do I do to finish this 1st ground mission and start the next mission and so on?

Because I got so fed up running around and killing these borgs and never ending the mission I gave up and spent at least a full year away from the game because I just did not know how to move on to the next missions?

I only just restarted playing that 1st kill the borg mission again hoping to find out how to move on to the next missions?

And had to wait for the webmaster to clear me for access to this forum to ask for help?

So Help anyone please?

There is another console up against that building (front) that you interact with after lowering it's shields and killing the Borg from inside the shield.

If you are stuck on the Vega mission it might be worth doing the Klingon and Romulan storyline for the moment as on the 12th there will be a brand new and shiny Federation tutorial - that is if you don't get any luck in making it work

Hello Thanks to the players who gave me their help on this mission problem?

1st > I scanned the pole like console near the borg cube tower many times as I seen others do so and nothing seemed to change misssion wise after I lowered the borg shield and killed the 3 borg myself before any other player did so! So what am I doing wrong?

2nd to the other helpful player who told me to start another mission like the klingon mission instead? How do I do that?

I am in a mission already which I being a newbie at don't know how to change to another mission or how even how to use most of the on screen controls for my game play? So please tell me how I do that change over?

on the character select screen you klick on new character and then select either the romulan or a klingon faction.

Baudi, last I checked you had to play the fed side to level 20 before the Klingon side was unlocked. Did they change this when they expanded Klingon game play?

Yes, all three factions are available immediately and from level 1 now.

Ah, cool, Oh and xmoonbeamer. I can't be sure from just the forums. If you like I can friend you make a new character and team up with you on that mission to see what is going on. Just post your handle here or in a pm if you like.

Once you free your four hostages from the borg, you get the mission update telling you to go to one of the borg towers. Once you get to the tower, look at it. Often, if others are running the map along with you, you will come to a tower that already has its force field down. You will then just have to use the interact that pops up on the small column that is in front of the tower to complete the mission.

If the force field is up, you are likely being shot at by two turrets, each on top of a pylon that is on either side of the tower. Shoot the turrets to destroy them. There will be two Borg hanging out at the left hand side pylon. Kill them. At this pylon (the left one), is the interact to disable the force field. Go to that pylon and the interact should pop up to disable it. Once its disabled, kill the tactical Borg that is on the front of the tower. You should then be able to use the interact that pops up on the small column that is in front of the tower (just to the right of where the tac borg was standing on tower) to finish the mission. You may have to kill the two borg that are on either side of the tower if you aggro'd them before hitting the interact.

took me FOREVER to finish.
I thought I was supposed to just kill all the borg on the map.
I felt pretty stupid when I realized there was other things I had to do to to complete the mission.
Got pretty good at killing borg though.

I been slowly learning how to fight in the starship battles now too, And on some other ground missions that are part of them!

Some are damn hard to beat though?

But you all helped me get going into the great star trek online game world.

I will now have to do some other missions to earn the credits to upgrade the ship and the crew etc.?

I wish you all happy hunting and many great wins in whatever missions you do?
