Elachi Lock Box Last Chance Promotion [Now Ended]

As of Tuesday, November 12, 2013, Elachi Lock Boxes will stop dropping as in-game rewards. Until the same time, we're also running a special lock box promotion. Read more for full details.

    First things, first! Now, Branflakes, will we be seeing a key sale and/or zen sale soon... like before the box rewind ends?

    Just a guess, but I suspect (hope) that Cryptic runs a Key sale during the entire winter event, as they did last year.

    So, anyone taking bets on the next lock box on the 12th? Voth lock box, I'm guessing.

    How about we take bets on the brand new ships that are inside?

    I, for one, want new Tier 5 Mirror Ships. I want my Tier 5 Mirror Light Cruiser!

    Mirror Ha'Feh in the new LB, for sure. Any new Mirror Ships are unlikely.

    Yeah, the mirror ships seem so plentiful to me and now that we have repeats I have a bunch of all of them now. I rarely use them but my hoarder nature says not to sell them LOL I'm guessing it'll be Voth or even just a Delta Quadrant box. Expecting a new DOff pack soon, from the Delta Quadrant as well.

    You know what I would love to see in a lockbox as one of the extras? .... Ship skin variants.

    Great looks like you get with mirror ships and other items .... just new options for giving our ships better looks .... or maybe also a pack of new wall trophies for the ready room, etc.

    Yep, I'd like it if they could turn it into an account level currency that didn't take inventory space though.

    i am confused. You bring back lock boxes for everyone and keep stating this is a free to play game... but what good is finding lock boxes when you have to pay real money to unlock them?

    You don't pay to log into the game and play it, so it's free. The boxes are just one of the loot drops. You don't want to buy keys (which can be aquired without real cash) to open them, that's your choice. You can sell the boxes on the exchange or you can trash them.

    I'm already aware of that, thanks. Not what I meant. I was just making a player quality of life improvement suggestion.

    Newbie question here: Will we still be able to open the lock boxes after the 12th? Can I stock up on lock boxes now even if I don't have the keys to open them?

    Yes! You can open a lock box rgardless of whether it has been discontinued or not as long as you have one and a key to open it.

    I'm a little surprised; only two (one? not sure whether to go by my timezone or Cryptic's...) days left until the Elachi drops stop and no clues yet about what the new lockbox will be...

    Makes me wonder just what they've got planned for it...

    (Hopefully, it will include keeping some of the things that have been introduced in the last two or three lockboxes as 'standard' possibilities, especially the Rich Dilithium Claims - finally, Mining is actually worth it...)

    That's just a community guess, though, nothing confirmed. Saying 'It has to do with Season Eight and the Voth" is like saying "There's a boat on the ocean", the ocean can be big and you have no idea what kind of boat you're looking for.

    Besides, "Voth"? How many people were saying "Elachi" when LoR came out and we got Tal Shiar first?

    Counter-argument; Flight-Deck Cruiser, a cruiser with a single hanger bay, which makes it a baby-carrier. Obelisk Carrier, Fleet Atrox Carrier, Fleet Kar'fi Carrier, a Voth baby-carrier would fit right in with the other Fleet Spire ships.

    Besides which, how long did the Fed Cloak console show "Battle Cruiser" on Tribble before they officially released word of the Avenger? A month? Two? It could very well be in the next lockbox or even a Lobi-store ship.

    While the picture is clearly readable, it's been cropped down where there's no context to place it in, which means as evidence - to me - it's highly circumstancial.
