In-Game Maps [Devs Please Read]

This have been on my mind ever since the launch of Legacy of Romulus.

Can you please consider removing that semi-opaque arc thing from the in-game maps?

I can't see it filling any aesthetic function, and to me that take a lot of map screenshots from time to time it means even more screenshots.

    I'll post some kind of screenshot later to show you guys, but I think any Dev seeing this knows what I was trying to say. It has nothing to do with the pwe arc daveny.

    And I didn't ask for a Dev response, just for them to consider removing it. :-)

    Oh that thing. Yes I agree. While they're at it, I wish they'd make sector dividers more distinct. There are lines all over and it's extremely hard to tell which one is the sector division.

    Might be a stupid question on my part, but did you try clicking "Remove Astrometrics" on the in game screen? It doesn't remove them from the map, but in sector space it clears everything up I think. Might make those screenshots easier.

    That doesn't help, and even if it did it would only be useful when in space. :)


    I'll elaborate bit on why this is a problem for me:

    When making those maps I mentioned, I take zoomed in screenshots and piece them together to make the full map. And with that arc thing covering 30% ish of the map it's gonna take many more screenshots to make a full map..


    There are more things that could be done to improve the in-game maps by the way, and I've seen other posting about this before:

    The "blurring" on the maps, I understand that it probably have something to do with bandwidth when loading a map, but can't it be done in a better way to remove the out of focus blur?

    Arcs... You mean, the trade or navigation or whatever routes? IMO, they should be given some kind of significance rather than removed.

    I agree with the person above me. These lanes are there as connectors for major hubs, signs of where certain empires are located, and the connective spacel lanes between them.

    To test and prove this point start from DS9 and select a destination and watch from that map how you travel along.

    Also what the OP is asking for is like asking a map company to remove all the roads from a Road Atlas.

    So you cannot take Screenshots without it, woy have the skill to add all your shots together, could you not simply take a portion without those lanes and photoshop it over the lines. Sure its more work for you, but i would much rather you do it then the DEV's waste their time to make your screenshots look nicer....
    Inertia just means you can do Powerslides in you carrier!

    What they should really get rid of is the blur effect towards the edges of the map. It's somewhat tolerable on sector space maps, but it's really annoying on New Romulus. I'm not sure why they thought blurry maps look good. It impedes the primary function of a map---navigation.

    No I don't mean the solar system connector lines, go back and re-read the OP carefully then look at the screenshot. lol

    Always assumed those were trade routes or something. Never found them the least bit obtrusive.
