Has anybody tried this on Crystal Entity?

I was wondering if anyone has took one for the team by ramming the C.E. with a ship, maybe with the help of the Impulse Capacitance Cell and some purple "space" duty officers with abilities that make "ramming" and "abandon ship" more deadly to see what kind of kinetic damage it inflicts?

On the early days of the event when it was bugged and spammed with rifts everywere i did considerable ramming on the entity since i couldn't keep my shields/hull alive long enough.

As far as i could remember the damage dealt its not even close to a good torpedo hit, so pretty much pointless to use ramming as a strategy

i remember once upon a time i killed the ISE Tac cube with ramming.... it was beautiful, back when evasive maneuvers increased damage.

I'll only ram it if I'm close to death and all my healing abilities are on CD (usually only happens on my characters that fly escorts). I figure it I'm going to die, I may as well die doing a little damage, even if it is miniscule. :)

Once upon a time, when the game was young an crystalline entity shards healed the entity by 3% a recrystallize, and there was no buff.

By some miracle you get the entity to below 30%, a ramming speed would kill the entity by dealing millions of damage...

This was before the current visual of the entity, stfs were bugged awesomeness. Sets were not in game....was a crazy time
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

I have those, how do they help? Does the gas need to be released around the C.E.? or in its path? Can I equip it on the Oddyssys? Seems like a patch awhile back made it to where it could be used on other ships, maybe just its mirror counterpart I don't remember.

When I was playing against the C.E some months back, I got 1st place alot but forgot the build for it. I thought I used the free breen ship with transphasic torpedos along with rapid fire breen ones but when I seen the lower kinetic damage compared to quatum/photon etc. this time around, I thought I was mistaken. Old age creeping up on me.

You have to be around the CE, it fires by itself, as any weapons discharge will ignite the metreon gas, so you have to do it fast.., and that's it.. i dunno if it can be installed in a Oddy.. never tryed :)

It wont hurt the other players if they ignite it? I bought alot of ships from the c-store mainly for their universal consoles but that one I've used the least as it worked only with that ship.Seem like it also came with 180 degree quantum torpedo tho that was universal.

Back in ancient days, you could activate ramming speed at any point. People just rammed the original entity to death with it.

Bring back constant ramming! Mwahahaha! :P I don't think it does the insane amounts of damage it used to, don't really know though as I tend not to use it.

Yeah, the original CE a single player could 1-shot ram the CE from full health. I even did it a few times before the nerf. Had to been one of the funnest moments I ever had in STO. :P

If you ever tried these abilities, you know they are impossible. Capacitance Cell can't be used in conjunction with Ramming, and the ship explosion from self destruct is weak as a single torpedo attack and hits for like 5000 kinetic.

That said, the original speed stacking method that mangifies ramming does still work. However, given the CE has well over one million HPs, at best if you manage to land a super ram, you will only do like 100,000 damage with it. During the last event, I suicide rammed several times using this method and the best hit was like 116,000 damage, and just did like 1% damage at best. So even if all 20 participating players decide to ram the best, it wouldn't do any good.

During the CE event a few weeks ago I scored a ramming speed critical hit on the entity. 229k damage as I recall (Go Down Fighting was involved as well). Which didn't really scratch it (it has 5 million HP I think?) but felt good.

This is fun to do sometimes but not really a viable tactic.
