I thought about calling it something stupid like RandomOPvP or some such sillyness.
Then I remembered sticking feathers up your **s doesn't make you a chicken.
Plues there have been 1000 other PremadePvP channels with names almost like OrganizedPvP that have failed terribly. Mostly because people take them as existing to destroy Opvp (which in many cases was the idea of there creators so people where not far off thinking that).
As it is for the first few weeks I got tons of "why are you trying to kill Opvp you ****". I think now almost everyone gets it.
This is a cool idea but how do you balance new players? Do you randomly assign players the 1st time and the see stats, and reassign? What does an average PvPer like me need to do? I am so tired of OP ships and premades and would love to PvP againts peers of similar skill and build.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
I love TD. The matches are usually awesome, with excellent players and genuine comradery. However, there simply isn't enough activity in the channel, especially during weekday periods. Seems the only one consistently organizing matches is Zenith, and he's not on all the time, so...
Love the concept. Hate that I can rarely find a match to "x" into.

Join the channel and throw your hand up when you see people organizing.
Llet them know your new... tell them if you are sci/tac/enig and what ship your in that goes a long way to being able to slot you in.... after a few matches there will be Hilbert data on you and the system will suggest teams for you as well.
Everyone starts somewhere. I have never seen anyone in TD be anything less then super helpful when we see new faces.

I know Zenith has really made the channel stick for sure. We need more people starting matches I agree. I hoped that more people would get into the habit of starting up matches.
Perhaps that needs to be the first Fight Club homework assignment. Start a Fight with a random stranger. lmao
PS. I do know that Naz has been starting matches... and Minimax was doing some as well. Anyone wanting to fire up some matches please do. http://hilbertguide.com/leaderboard/balance.php Hilberts balancing tool is a great place to start to get matches going pretty quickly.

Have I played with you before in a TD match? What toon name do you use?

Being a long time PvPer who has never found a solid group to run with on a consistent basis, I look forward to joining this channel in the coming days.
So, I may have goofed today by inviting the TD channel to help fill in a match full of mostly non-PvP players from my fleet. We had one guy on the opposing team with net issues who kept dropping in and out, which I saw and tried to compensate for by sitting out myself. What I didn't see was that two other members of the team had bailed because of the imbalance. That's my fault, I should have had Zone on a more isolated tab where it's easier to follow.
Regardless of that though, is it OK to use TD to supplement matches formed outside of it (as long as they operate under TD's general philosophy)? Or should TD matches only be formed from within TD?
And my thanks to the last member of the opposing team who stuck it out 4 on 1. Your sportsmanship is noted and appreciated.

You can make matches outside of TD anytime, the good thing about TD is this is where alot of the PVPers congregate so you can get more pickups. I would advise trying out Hilbert's balancing tool Here. It's not perfect but it does mitigate alot.

Shameless promotion bump time!
Glad to see you using the channel!
Tyler Durden does not exist to have totalitarian monopoly on organized mixed fleet/faction PvP matches :P
The channel is for everyone to use, organise matches outside of the channel, draw players from the channel, etc. It's all good.
For interfleet pvp however, OrganizedPvP (in theory) is the place to look.
Tyler Durden channel's mandate is simply to make it easier to organise challenging and balanced matches, and leaving your fleet tags, drama, grudges at the door.
OrganizedPvP can also be a good place to pick up players if you're lacking the numbers for a full match. I've even drawn a couple of players from Kerrat when it's been very quiet.
If the Hilbert leaderboard suggestions look imbalanced, exercise your good judgement to adjust and balance the teams.
Also, feel free to use the TS3 server (details provided in the Tyler Durden channel description). Once the momentum gets going, it's quite easy to get a series of games running.
If it goes over capacity, change the match to Cap and 'splode! Might as well make use of the other PvP space game mode!
Regarding voice comms, making sure each team gets a target caller/coordinator(s) goes a long way towards a challenging match.

I get that, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't breached etiquette by pulling TD folks into what was a VERY casual match. We had, within our fleet, been goofing around in PvP for most of the afternoon. Two matches in T1 ships, one match in shuttles, one in full on T5 ships. We wanted to do another round, but some people bowed out, so I filled in from TD. I don't think the TD folks were quite ready for how non-PvP oriented most of our fleeties were. I may be the only one who ever does PvP outside these little fleet-only romps, and even I haven't been doing much since LoR (too much time grinding reps). The early part of the match seemed to go OK though. Then somebody dropped due to net issues, and it went to hell from there.

Didn't save all the games. Epic good night regardless. Started off slow but by the end it was a all night slug fest.

Was any of them the one where Mini killed 4 guys at once that eneded in 14/15? BEcause that was an awesome match.

The 1st link + Hilbert is the match you are looking for. That was a fun match.

Most people organizing ask in Opvp... not always I guess though.
You should join though Mancom. Don't worry there won't be a second stream of silly nothing to do with PvP or Trek talk fill your screen.
Seriously though not a lot of chatter which is nice.

Nope, almost strictly match organization or related to it. Best PvP since years

I haven't been on to much lately... however my very good friend who I let use this computer sometimes goes by @husanak in game.
Ah Yes I have that handle before. Hope to see you in Battle sometime

Please can ant mail. (You can read more on it here.)
Thanks!
I'll send you a mail later today... turkey time here in Canada first.
Awesome thanks!
It depends. Its usually the more people are on TD teamspeak the sooner they can start doing Tyler matches and set them up is my experience.
