Greetings All,

I'm not use to using my Tactical Characters but I decided to try my hand with an A2B build.

http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/index.php?build=a2bjemdread_329

Please take a look and let me know how I can improve what I'm using so far.

I'm using 3 Very Rare Techs with 2 Very Rare Cool down reducing Energy Weapons Doffs.

Thanks for your time

Uhhhhhh right off the bat, if you're running dual A2B, why the doubled-up FAWs or energy-CD doffs when everything is at global anyways?

Slide the LtC A2B down to Lt.

. . . 2 Very Rare Cool down reducing Energy Weapons Doffs -- "Chance to reduce recharge time on Beam Overload and Fire at Will"?!? I believe with A2B you should be at or almost at global cool down on FAW/ BO WITHOUT the Energy doffs. Use those doffs slots for something else.
Have you tried the new forum on your phone?

I'd suggest a purple con doff that improves attack patterns by 10% and 1 marion.

    run APB3, APO2, BO2, BFAW1 on cmdr tac.

run DEM2, aux2batt1, EptW1 on lt cmdr eng.

I have to admit that I am beginning to see the draw of an A2B build.

The build can be very efficient and being able to reduce the cool down to global on just about any Bridge officer ability is huge.

Too bad A2B cannot do much for Reverse Shield Polarity :(

I tweaked my Build a bit based on some of the suggestions that I got here and will be updating STOAcademy with it when I get the chance.

I am still at a loss for what doffs I should be trying to slot with the last 2 space spots that I have open.

How many of the System Engineering Duty Officers that reduce Energy Weapon Power drain can we slot and is there another way to get them other than shelling out 36-42 million EC for them on the Exchange?

2 more days till I get my new Carrier :)

There's a DOff that increases the duration of RSP, I forget the type though.

Thus far Marion is the only DOff with the ability to reduce energy weapon drain with DEM, you can equip only one Marion IIRC, but you shouldn't need more reduction anyway. Marion is from crit'ing the Temporal Beacon DOff assignment gotten from the temporal lock box.

    You mean a reduction from 2min 45 seconds (265s) down to 1 minute (60s) isn't good?!

So basically, RSP has a shared cooldown of 1 minute. Plenty of time to use A2B at least 2 or 3 times (60-90% reduction to base cooldown). Even if you use only 1 Aux2Bat like me, you'll be able to use it 81s or so.

    Thanks again all.

I am having problems with STO Academy from my current location so I thought I would just list out the build I am working with now.

    Universal Lt. EPtW, A2B

    Comander Tactical TT, FAW2, APO2, APB3

    Lt. Tactical FAW, BO2

Lt. Commander Engineering EPtS, A2B, ET3

    Ensign Science HE

I am a bit reluctant to want to part with the 40 + million EC for the Very Rare System Engineer that lowers energy weapon power consumption so I slotted a Beam Array Overload Energy Weapon Doff.

I have been trying to find the Very Rare Conn Officer that boosts the damage output of Attack Pattern skills that was mentioned here but I cannot seem to find one.

The one thing that I did notice when I was running the two Energy Weapon Doffs that reduced cool downs on Beam Array Attack skills was that they seem to stack with A2B reduction.

A2B would reduce my cool down on BO to about 15 seconds and then in a blink that 15 seconds would drop to 5.

I have to do some more play testing to try to confirm if the above cool down reduction is accurate.

I think I will add in my Leech console and the trait Inspirational Leader to this build.

At the very least experimenting with A2B has given me a reason to spend some time with my Fed Tactical Captain and made me realize just how good the JHDC can be.

Now if only Cryptic would lift that silly requirement that you must own both the Jem Dread and Jem Bug to be able to use the Hanger Bugs

I doubt u need that APO unless you were going to PvP. Who cares if a cube puts a tractor on u. :P
You know Cryptic has Jumped the Proverbial Shark when they introduced Tractor Pulling to Star Trek Online! :D

The Conn Officers you want are the ones with 'Reduce cooldown to Tactical Team & Buff', with said buff being to Attack Patterns. The Elachi Survivor DOff pack from the Elachi has them.

    Thanks,

They were pretty much staring me right in the face on the exchange and I also broke down and shelled out for the Marion Duty Officer as well.

Even though I have hundreds of millions in EC it always stings a bit when I by something that cost 30 or more million and do not flip it for a profit :o
