Let's try to remain optimistic here, it could be a whole lot better.
honestly the best solution would be for cryptic to simply make the damn thing account wide(or at least faction wide), but i don't think they ever will, so we take what we can i guess.
Obviously they are talking about the Dyson Reputation and Reputation Sponsorship systems. The Dyson Reputation is done completely different compared to the current Reputations and the devs plan on changing the current reputations at some future season to match the Dyson Reputation.

Make the unlocks account-wide. The specific trait choice should be done by character.

Or make the Marks, BNPs, and equipment account bound on pickup and character bound on equip. So we can trade the equipment to our alts, but we can't reuse the same piece of equipment for all our alts.
A 20-hour project awarding 2500 rep points, you only need to put in one token which you earn by doing one of several missions. There's also a 1-hour mish that awards 150 points, and takes marks, expertise, and ec.

honestly why do people insist on this, why can't the traits be account-wide? you unlock T5 omega on a character for instance, it unlocks t5 omega on all characters and then you could pick whatever traits you want on each character.
i don't see the point of unlocks being account-wide through, maybe its cause i have the most important ones in every alt(shield/engine/deflector).

That's what he's saying though. You unlock everything across accounts, but you pick what you want between characters.
The new system is miles better and if people like it it will retrofit onto the others.
There are two projects. one costs 1 commendation (you get that for a daily mission which the quickest is only 15 minutes, at one a day, or you convert a number of marks to get a stack of 5) and awards 2500 xp. this is 500 xp more than before. it takes 20 hours to complete.
one project costs 10 marks and some very minor expertise and EC, takes an hour to complete and awards 150 xp. this can be done over and over as many times a day as you can fit in.
None of the projects cost any commodities or items any more.
the cost of marks does not increase with each level, so it does not get harder as you go up through the tiers like it currently does.
when you slot a project you instantly get a random mark xii from the rep system. You get your dilithium on completion.
Stores no longer need to be unlocked. You get to what ever the correct tier is, you get your item to buy with dilithium.
when you reach tier 5, you can run a project for 100 marks, and get a token. you give that token to another character to use and their xp doubles for the life of their rep. you can get as many tokens as you need to help your alts.
all the equipment is mark xii, so no useless mark x stuff anymore.

The Devs plan on doing a lot of things, most of which have never happened and I don't expect they ever will.
For example, the tech that lets the Odyssey separate and merge while moving was supposed to be added to the other ships with separable sections, well over a year later it still hasn't happened.

They did implement it on the D'kyr not too long ago. You can now launch the Tal'Kyr without stopping.

Why are you not rejoicing?
it is broken if you have alts through.
But I reckon it will mostly been just a red coat of paint, or at least that Double Rep bonus token being the so-called "revamp".
"Last Engage! Magical Girl Origami-san" is in print! Now with three times more rainbows.

Thanks for Harajuku. Now let's get a real "Magical Girl" costume!

But given cryptic's and PWE's track record, I shall remain cynically pessimistic.

I agree. That would make the whole thing so much better.

Is it so hard to scroll down a bit and read the threads in the Tribble section of these forums.

oh, when he said unlocks i thought he meant things like shields/deflectors/weapons/etc.
With all due respect , putting on a red coat of paint is actually canon ... , if you likes Eenerprise :
