Just thought of something. I would buy a faction change. I would love to move my Trill Science Officer to the KDF. Even if I had to change her race.
Wow. There is a new KDF Science ship. I'll be!

It's too late to do anything about the Zen prices. We had our chance when they first put them in the store and instead of refusing to buy them until the prices were reduced far too many idiots leapt at the chance to throw their money at those overpriced geegaws. By now the majority of the player base has accepted those prices and regardless of what they may say they are still jumping at the chance to buy them as soon as they are released.

haven't bought the Regent, Haven't bought the Avenger. it can still be changed.

I hear the game is dying, and I don't know what to make of it. But when I log on I have tons of friends and many of them are not online playing.

Issue One: Players raging over Uniform bugs on the Klingon side.
And no good Science Vessels for Klink Science.

Solution One: Before we launch any more major updates which I do love.

We need to: Fix all Uniform and game Bugs. Fix all other exploits that have not been addressed. This is the priority.

Issue Two: Give Science True War Vessels with Xtra Tac BO Slots.

Solution Two: I have heard players raging that they do not have this. So give them what they want. Science War Ships with major firepower. Retrofit some Cruisers on all factions for this purpose.

Romulan Faction: Players complaining they do not have a true faction.
Solution: Give them thier own faction and Starbase.

Issue Three: Too many Fleets and players too spread out. Hard to get good games going.

Solution Three: Consolidate Fleets and Fleet Starbases.
There are too many Fleets in this game. Require Twenty Or More Players at this point to start a new fleet.
And find and provide a way to consolidate present Fleets. We do not need this many, and it is hurting the game.
The Fleet Starbases should disappear and put them on Eath Space Dock/Qonos.

Issue Four: The Doff system is creating a class of the Haves and Have Nots.

Solution Four: Give everyone high quality Purple Doffs. Make them free make them at least Cheap to purchase. We need major game balance specially on ground.

Issue Five: The Rep Systems are a Grind.

Solution Five: Once one toon unlocks and Completes the Rep System it should be system wide for every toon we own.
Also, bring back winning the Elite STF sets we can win on missions as well as the Rep System at the same time. It will encourage players to stay in the game.

Issue Six: Cstore and Lobi Ships are too expensive.

Solution Six: Drop the prices. Yes they cost less. But you will sell more of them. The Three Pack ships in the C-Store should cost about 3000 to 3500 Zen. Only my Opinion.

During the Winter Event you might try giving out several types of ships.

Issue Seven: Lol but yes Toon Regret. I wish I had made my Toon a Tac instead of a Engineer or Science Officer.

Solution Seven: Sell us a Class Respec. Now my favorite toon can become a Tac. Might help to keep players in the game.

Give everybody everything so they continue to play the game.

P.S. PWE advertise your STO game this Xmas season. Specially in the major computer stores. You need to increase your customer base. Alot of people dont even know about this game. Just us hardcore Trekkies.

You might also try giving out a free STO game CD with select Vendors when they sell thier Gaming Laptops and Personal Computers.

    Issue 1.

Yes bugs need fixing and uniform in particular across the board not just KDF.

    Issue 2.

No. Science needs abilities buffed and make them valuable in gameplay. They do NOT need more tac abilities as thats just an escort with more science than engineering.

    Issue 3.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! I do not want my fleet merged with some random fleet and If I wanted to join some mega fleet I would have joined one. If this is an issue for you join a large mega fleet.

I also prefer having my own starbase to get away from the trolls and TRIBBLE on ESD and Qonos as i am sure many others of the playerbase likes it as well.

    Issue 4.

DOFF's are not a problem, it is a mini game and you earn the purple DOFF's. Start DOFFing as soon as you get the first pack and by the time you are level 50 you will have DOFF's. It is not the system design at fault but players for not doing it. Takes 5 seconds to check DOFF assignments when traveling from sector to sector. takes but a few minutes to go work on a chain. If you do not do it then that is your fault for not getting the DOFF's.

    Issue 5.

This is being revised already, may need more improvements. Winning gear should not replace buying, do it 100+ times and not get 1 piece turns players away faster than having the goal in plain site and guaranteed to get it. Season 8's new rep will give a random rep item for project completion and is a better alternative.

    Issue 6.

Prices are fine for ships, Yes more ships for rewards would be nice though. But break up clothing sets to individual parts and sell them at a lower price. this would get more people buying because maybe 550 zen for a pair of boots isnt worth it but 50 zen or 100 is.

    Issue 7.

Class respec token would be nice but it will not actaualy make them money so that wont ever happen.

As a bit of consolation on the Zen costs of some items. If you have ever play other online games PWE is cheap in compairison. Look at Blue Frogs Battle Star Galatice online. It cost around $2000 to level a ship to max level. That is not accounting for Ammo cost either. To do the same with grinding would take about a 9 months of 4 or more hours per day of play everyday. There are people on that game that have spent 20k and up. When I left that game and came here I was overjoyed at how cheap Zen store items were and the Dil/exchange rate.
Eve is another one that is extremely expensive as well. I know that money is money and paying for ones and zeros and not getting excatly what you want is frustrating. But at least this game does not charge $100 to level one gun out of 8 from level 10 to 11.

Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Well I find half of what the OP is suggestion silly, and the other half already has several threads discussing the topic.

I don't think the game is dying, it's just quiet. It always is several months after a new update. Wait till Season 8 hits, it'll be busy again. A lot of games (MMO specifically) go through these phases. It's normal.

I'd hope that's the case at least; I have noticed a severe lack of activity within my two fleets recently... :(

Wait, what, MORE Tac? On Science ships? I think not...

Romulan Faction: Players complaining they do not have a true faction.

Easier said than done, but certainly necessary. And hopefully while the sun's still burning, Cryptic.

The Fleet Starbases should disappear and put them on Eath Space Dock/Qonos.

I don't really think that that's necessary, and would cause more QQ than it would eliminate...

Issue Four: The Doff system is creating a class of the Haves and Have Nots.

Solution Four: Give everyone high quality Purple Doffs. Make them free make them at least Cheap to purchase. We need major game balance specially on ground.

I don't know enough about the ground metagame to really make a direct comment on this, but it kind of sounds like the ground doff power system just needs to be nerfed/changed. Giving everyone HQ purple DOFFs kind of ruins the point.

Not a COMPLETE solution, but it would be good.

During the Winter Event you might try giving out several types of ships.

Mehh... Maybe run some sales on these threepacks and things? I don't think that just dropping the cost would be a good idea.

Issue Seven: Lol but yes Toon Regret. I wish I had made my Toon a Tac instead of a Engineer or Science Officer.

Solution Seven: Sell us a Class Respec. Now my favorite toon can become a Tac. Might help to keep players in the game.

I don't like it, because it would just eliminate even more Scis, but I guess...

Here's the gist of it: Whatever the game is, dying or not-dying, doesn't matter. We have no control over it. All the things we individually want that we're not getting we need to deal with the displeasure like adults. All the things that we don't individually want that we are getting we need to deal with the displeasure like adults. All we can do is play what we do like and skip what we don't. The rest is really outside of our hands as we can only control our own actions.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

You may not have bought them but tens of thousands of other people have. So guess whose spending habits carry more weight with Cryptic/PWE. You who refuses to spend $50-$100 bucks on ships or the people that have spent millions on C-store ships and continue to throw more money at them each time something new is released.

I'll give you a hint, it's not you.

    Then those people are stupid.

What people spend their money on is their choice. Calling people stupid because they don't act in a manner that you agree with is very intolerant on your part. Although, that is the type of behaviour I would expect from an Admiral in the Terran Empire.

they keep adding new stuff, but never really fixing or balancing the old stuff.. there are many ships id like to play, but i cant cause they dont stand up. these things should be priority.

It is the nature of the beast of the modern gaming industry.

    Oohhh.. look, a shiny!!!

There is only so much content that can be rolled out at a time within an reasonable cost. New games will get new players, then when those players cap out, a new game is out, and the players jump ship.

This is my 4th game in 3 years, and my 2nd LTS.

While I like ST:O, I am pretty much biding my time for 2 games that are due this year. AC4 and ESO.

AC4 I will wait until mid next year when the price drops, and then I will buy it.

ESO, I will most likely jump ship fro ST:O and head to ESO.

ST:O has content, it has end game play, it has new content set to roll out in 1-2 months.

The game isn't dying, but a lot of the "hard-core gamers" shifted to the newest/next shiny.

I agree with you on the C-store ship prices. The're just too high. A reasonable price for one ship would be in the $10-15.00 range.
I think if Cryptic lowered their prices, or at least ran more aggressive sales more often they would actually make more money. And the price for the skill tree Re-spec token is TRIBBLE. Should be around a couple bucks.

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

If you think STO is dying now wait until MMO's like Elder Scrolls Online, EQ Next and many other new MMO's are released....I love STO but unless Cryptic realizes that all the things that people are upset about, like all of my Romulan characters (female) not being about to show their armor, are addressed that players will just not bother to login anymore, simple as that.

Ship interiors need expansion and reworked in many many ships...give this to foundry authors to be able to make ship interiors, Starbase interiors, etc

Rich Mining claims should have been account bound same time as lobi was...

All the Klingon developmental laziness or rushed stuff needs to be addressed and fixed...

Give all graphical laziness on Cryptic's part to the Foundry to take care of, and then the stuff that turns out really good use it in future updates. No compensation to the author is needed other then possibly a simple note..."thanks to (insert foundry author name) for this wonderful art. Cryptic already owns everything authored in the foundry anyway.

As long as there are trekkies this game will survive - same with games like WoW, TOR and DCUO. WoW couldn't be killed anymore than TOR or STO will be killed when the new elder scrolls game comes out. Hell, people STILL play Everquest for crying out loud!! WoW couldn't kill THAT game even though it stole most of its DESIGN from it!!! If there's a pre-established fanbase willing to grind for MONTHS to get a Dominion dreadnaught this game WILL survive

STO will survive - as will Trekkie's survive. As long as there's a handful of us to keep the spirit alive, we will prevail - even if the only source of trek is a series of movies with mind-numbing acting and screaming ditz's :P

OP if you want to see a game in its death throws go take a look at Battlestar Galactica Online that games is dying well its practically dead.

This game is not dying its not even hits its prime yet so before you talk about how STO is dying why not look at a game that actually is dying and compare...
