Well originally the statement was the feds would never get one. You just have to get enough people to whine and then you will see a romulan 2 hangar carrier.

    <whine><whine>
Cryptic, you will get my Zen if you put a 2 hagar Romulan carrier in the C-store!!

The 40 power loss for Romulans is a big drawback that already balances out the factions. You can max out your power skill points and hardly recover that loss. And the singularity powers aren't too strong with very long cooldowns.

Since both the Fed and Klingons are getting fleet Atrox and Karfi, it's only fair that Romulans get a 2 hangar carrier too.

    Quick question: will the...

    -[REDACTED]
-Fleet Peghqu? Heavy Destroyer* (KDF Only)
-Fleet Chimera Heavy Destroyer* (Starfleet Only)
-Fleet Daeinos Heavy Destroyer* (Romulan Republic Only)
-Fleet Kar'fi Battle Carrier (KDF Only)
-Fleet Caitian Atrox Carrier (Starfleet Only)
-Fleet Ar'Kif Tactical Carrier Warbird Retrofit (Romulan Republic Only)

...receive a Fleet Ship Module discount for purchasing the non-Fleet version from the C-Store?

Why doesn't the Scimitar have two hangars? I mean legitimately you can't tell me it's not big enough to have more than one. Or the one it has being absolutely huge. (Enough to count as two)

No way. While it is supposed to be the time when they're making an appearance, the Sphere Builders would never be able to survive in this universe long enough to build a Freakin Dyson Shell. Their spheres had a specific purpose, to warp our space to fit their space time continuum. These Dyson's Spheres are clearly some species deciding they needed enough space for their civilization until the end of time (something like 550 million times the area of Earth, into the quadrillions...easily greater than the current population of the Federation).

What if it was constructed by the First Humanoids, they successfully explored the whole galaxy. With every ancient solar system at their disposal finding materials to construct such a sphere would've been simple, grab any solar system(s) you want. Place one in all four corners of the galaxy and you'd have quite significant bases for your civilization. A Dyson's (or Stapledon's) Sphere if built would have to be built to last the ages, so it lasting the billions of years isn't implausible. Especially considering that the Jenolan Dyson's Sphere was made of freaking Carbon Neutronium (Does that mean they broke down a Neutron Star....impressive), lasting the life of a star isn't really farfetched.

Yeah, it's pretty brutal on small fleets to get all of these things done. I'll be happy if I can get tier three on the starbase and tier 1 on both the embassy and mine. My Embassy would be there if not for the 360k dilithium cost. :( It's a long road. I have to admit Fleet Mergers would be nice.

maybe the sphere serves the same purpose as the halo rings. Maybe once all are activated it causes galaxy wide genocide?

Am I the only one who's not blind here? I think the answer of the Dyson sphere has been standing right in front of us for some time. It's gotta be Iconian. Think of how Cryptic's been continually advancing the storyline towards the Iconians, with the encounter in the Romulan arc, their past presence on Mol Rihan, and now just look at the sphere's styling. It pretty much screams Iconian when compared to a gateway like that in the mission where Hakeev is killed, in the Species 8472 mission in Fluidic Space, and in the newer Romulan campaign; even look at the Iconian ship Obex that briefly appears in the one mission segment. And what other civilization, short of maybe the Borg, who as of yet have been unsuccessful in doing so, could harness Omega? In case nobody else was aware, that's right. The Solanae Sphere is rockin' Omega power. The whole damn thing is driven by Omega particles--a collosal subspace supernova, waiting for somebody to come along and misuse it, destroying unknown reaches of subspace, which could cripple quadrant-wide (or even broader) warp travel forever. Any agreement? I think it's pretty obvious who caged up Solanae's star, but we've still got the best questions to answer for last: when, and more mysteriously, why? (for habitation, duh, but what sort of habitation, ex. military, science, civilian) I look forward to this new mind-busting mystery to wrap my confusion-loving mind around.

343 Industries already said the next release of Halo won't be called Halo 5, but everyone knows it will be anyway, based off of leaks. So if it really doesn't turn out to be Iconian, then who built the thing? It's surely not a race that hasn't been already introduced in the game.

Given that the Sphere was ancient when the Iconians were in their stone age, they didn't build it. Preservers maybe, or someone totally new. For all we know, its where the Iconians got their tech from.

Didn't they say somewhere that it was millions of years old? Given that the Iconians were dominant hundreds of thousands of years ago, thats a big difference.

Apparently, I wasn't entirely sure about the Iconians. Their homeworld (Iconia) was destroyed by orbital bombardment circa 200,000 years ago, when they fled and disappeared to explore the universe. Being the geek I am, I of course had to do some research, and as best as I can find, the most likely architects of the Sphere were a member of the Council of Orion, a galactic federation formed by "The Ancients". (a cluster of separatist/rival faction arose, causing a war) The Preservers became one of the remaining non-rival sects in the aftermath of the war.

EDIT: It is, however, somewhat unlikely that the Preservers were the architects of the Sphere, more likely another race such as the Loriyill Collective.

Yeah it doesn't fit the Iconians. The only race mentioned in the series from a few hundred thousand years ago that could have conceivably built one, would be the Tkon Empire, and they only operated within what is now known as the Alpha Quadrant.

See, I saw Tkon as one of the "third gen civilizations" while I was perusing through the interwebs, and something about that just didn't seem to fit to me. I sort of based my guess off of Cryptic's tendency to slap IP in the face, so I just assumed that it could have been an Expanded Universe species. But as canonical species go, you're correct, the most logical would be the Tkon, however, the Iconians would have been in their Stone Age sometime around 350-400 thousand years ago, and if the Sphere was supposed to have been ancient by then, going by Star Trek standards, I wouldn't consider 200-250 thousand years to be "ancient", for the time frame of the Sphere's existence. The Tkon empire reached its peak around 600 thousand years ago, and likely wouldn't have constructed the Sphere until about the, so time munches on for another 200-250 thousand years, and the Iconians are speculating the wheel. Call that ancient if you want, but maybe that's not quite the right term for me.

The Sphere is in the Delta Quadrant, and there is nothing in Trek canon that revealed the Tkon was a Galactic power and occupying territory that far from the Alpha Quadrant. So it can't be the Tkon.

And really hate it to be a preserver Sphere, because they seemed want to not be obvious and let history run it's course.

Which is why I mentioned them only operating in the Alpha Quadrant. I was merely saying that out of the more "recent" empires from the last few hundred thousand years, the Tkon would likely have the know how to build a Dyson sphere, not that the one we're seeing in Season 8 was going to be one built by them.

From what I've gathered from videos taken from Tribble, there are data cores in the Sphere refering to the Iconians as the "Gods" of the (now gone) builders/inhabitans of the Dyson Sphere.

Who actually says the Iconians weren't around for millions of years?
We know the date of their civilization's demise. Nothing more.
Their Empire collapsed 200 000 years ago. Who's to say they didn't rule their Realm already a million years then? Or 10 million years? We can't say, because we have no idea about the starting point of the Iconian culture.

Think about the Tkon. Their Empire collapsed what? 600 000 years ago? Caused by the destruction of their sun.
Sun went subspace supernova maybe? Sounds familiar? I think Cryptic will tie the Tkon in the Iconian story by establishing that the Iconians killed the Tkon off like they tried to kill off the Romulan Empire.
That would mean that they are far longer around then 200 000 years.
    Reality is an illusion.
    The universe is a hologram.

I'll see you that and raise you a Mass Effect.

What if the Borg are a constant problem and every time they conquer the galaxy, the Dyson's Sphere go all halo on then and annihilate all life. But the cybernetic components always end up in some organic civilization rebuilding the collective again. :D

Curious enough this is not logical. I haven't gone on Tribble as I hate spoilers, but a civilization that could actually harness Omega would have no need to build a Dyson's sphere, which has a primary objective of harnessing all the power of a star. Unless they needed a star to stabilize Omega, though Voyager proved that's not a necessity. But Omega molecules produce way more power than stars do.

Well no, there is an exception, if they needed it for the living space. But in that case they really wouldn't need to have a galaxy spanning empire. A single Dyson's Sphere could provide living space for the entire Federation hundreds of times over.

If Cryptic has decided to make this Iconian or one of their subject races then it's really illogical. The Iconian civilization was stopped dead in its tracks when somebody firebombed their home world. That's canon. It doesn't make sense for them to have their capitol that vulnerable when they have access to Dyson's Sphere technology. Nobody is fire bombing a Carbon Neutronium Dyson's Sphere with any hope of defeating it.
