You know, Cryptic should pay you and then use these to promote the game. Even if it's like $20. These make the game look really good without dev trickery. That goes so much further to making people impressed with the game. If I had seen your videos three years ago, I probably would have started playing the game sooner.
That being said, I didn't see any Gein. He was my favorite part of those missions.
I didn't see any Gein. He was my favorite part of those missions.
Mine too, but I had to cut a lot out to fit in what I did, and most of my Demo Record sessions with him in just crashed upon opening.
When I first played the Dividian story arc, there wasn't any real voice work in STO. That, coupled with playing 'What Lies Beneath' in the dark, with my newly fitted surround sound, in the house on my own... I nearly died of fright when Gein first spoke.
It's probably my favourite STO episode, and I considered doing the whole video on that episode alone.
Indeed, I could see Cryptic using this as advertising for this series--and I think it would be appropriate to use it when the next Featured Series rerun is done, given the way you show the fight against the Devidians and then your captain suddenly turns on them and starts getting back at them with the Ophidian Cane and triolic enhancers (a point nicely underscored by how you lined it up with the music).

Yeah, I did too...it makes sense from a story perspective that the crew would want to disguise themselves going into Drozana.

I'm sure that will make a lot of people happy. You really create masterpieces.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
Seriously, Starfish, you have to know how good your stuff is, right?
Hmm...? Not really no.
Obviously I'm pleased enough with them (at the time) to share them.
I think the soundtracks are good, and (for me at least) it's the music that makes them good, not the quality of my visuals. My footage is very jumpy in places (except the newest one), and the graphics on my PC are not so good either. I don't think they do the potential game graphics justice at all.
I'm working on another one at the moment which will be over 5 minutes long, and more like a mini episode. So far, the graphics are much better as I've tweaked my settings, but I have a feeling people won't like it, because it's somewhat different to the others. It's more story driven, with some dialogue, and at a much slower pace. But when it's done, I'll share it to see what people think.

Well you're doing these for free! You have every right to experiment, and no one has any right to complain really.
I definitely look forward to further videos from you.
I am really in awe of people who have the technical ability to pull this kind of thing off. I can do a few things with the Foundry, but video-editing is WAY beyond my skill. Even today I was thinking of how I wish I could pull off a video of the last Literary Challenge story I wrote, and I could sort of "storyboard" it, but beyond that I am absolutely useless.
And I agree with you about the music. That really brings life into a video, sets the tone, and ties the whole thing together. One example is what you did with the Devidians and their attacks in your Spectres video, and how you timed the "revenge" from your captain, using the music to underscore it. I thought that was awesome.

You just made my favorite featured series look even cooler.

if you liked Spectres, give my winner of Foundry Challenge #5 a try.
Spectres, Episode Six : Whatever Happened To The U.S.S. Reuben James?
I'm disappointed.. that I somehow managed to miss this thread.
Like the camera moves and the timing with the music.
+ For getting rid of the fraps ad too.
Very nice, please go make more!

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
Thank you, that's very kind.

Is just brilliant.
I hadn't seen the Winter Wonderland one until this thread.
Also, simply amazing.

This is not a "bump".
I sent you a message in the game mail.
