This is an idea I've been pondering. If I can get a Long Range Science Vessel for my Rommie Tac, this is the build I'm considering.

Given I can get enough Dil to get one...
Anyway, I don't know the price range for Tetryon weapons at the moment, but I know my other VA toon can afford the Mk XII Very Rares for the Shield, Deflector, and Impulse, and the Warp Core will be whatever I can get. Those fluctuate...
Wanted some ideas on how to refine this. I came here because I know you guys can help with Feds, and I don't want a thread full of insults for wanting to fly Fed instead of Rommie.
I wanted to try something new, something a little different, and I want to make my fleetmates **** themselves if they catch me in it. (Great bunch, but stuck in the old ways of Tac in Escort, Eng in Cruiser, and so on.)

One, maybe DBBs front turrets back? Or all beams? Either way, avoid diluting your power?
Two, as to the power selection, if you're a tac captain, why not make the most of it? Pick out the powers that do direct damage so you can buff the heck out of them. FBP, TBR, PSW, and so on.
You can't use a T5 Long-Range (or Fleet) on a Rom alt.
Also, fair warning, I don't know squat about about Sci powers, as for the most part, I've never been able to use them. I know about TSS, Polarize Hull, and HE, but that's about it.
Also, she's gonna be a long way from getting any decent Rep gear, so yeah, there's that.

The link is interesting, but I don't think I can make much use of that. This is supposed to be a build on a T4 Intrepid, a long ways from a Wells.
I'm not expecting to make a nasty snarling beast out of this. It's not a Wells or the Sci Scimitar.
At most, my expectations for how I'd like this thing to turn out out be to get by on PvE stuff at most. I don't expect to place in anything, this is just something I want to fly for fun, but still be able to put out some damage. I have my Ha'apex if I wanted to make some kind of monster. (however powerful the free Ha'apex can get without spending Zen on a C-store ship or FSMs.) [Worst care, I could remake her as a fed, but I'm at a point now where If I wanted to redo all this stuff, I'd need cash money for this, and I don't have a job to generate any at the moment. Not an official job anyway. I'm looking at less than a hundred bucks every other month or so.]
