52nd Legion ~*~ (RP Fleet)

The 52nd Legion is an RP guild, focusing primarily on the telling of stories in the Star Trek Prime Universe, and using the in game mechanics to facilitate that purpose. Our cannon, for those who are curious is told through over forty years of Star Trek Television Series and movies, specifically Star Trek: The Motion Picture, to Star Trek: Nemesis. We are a multinational guild spread over an array of time zones. However, a majority of our members are in the United States, and United Kingdom.

Despite the Fleet carrying the name of the 52nd Legion our RP revolves around the the starbase itself, the personnel on the starbase, and the travelers who come and go from the starbase. The 52nd Legion name refers to a designation given to the base and its personnel by the Klingon Empire. This is a unique environment in which hardline Imperial loyalists, Imperial revolutionaries, and career criminals can interact. But, at the end of the day we are all a part of the same fleet and the starbase itself is under the rule of law of the Klingon Empire due to all of our OOC character alignment.

The 52nd Legion is the sister Fleet of a large Federation Fleet. We have recently separated from that role to stand on our own feet and add another Fleet that gives KDF players the chance to RP in and out of STO. Our Fleet structure allows us a unique ability to accomodate almost any character type instead of forcing you into just another stereotypical role.

Starbase 249 has been claimed by the Empire as a new base of operations:

Qo'noS - The office of the High Council has released a list today of independent starbases that will be annexed into the Klingon Empire and brought into service for Klingon Defense Force operations. One such base is the little known, but very infamous, Starbase 249. This base has long been a haven for the trafficking of illegal goods and a preferred hiding place for wanted ships. Due to its location within a dense nebula, and its close proximity to the edge of the Eta Eridani Sector, it is speculated that the Empire will use the base as a staging ground for operations within, and beyond the Eta Eridani Sector space.

Also announced was the news that all personnel of the annexed starbases are to be conscripted into the service of the KDF. Some of these personnel have also been given commissioned officer ranks allowing them to oversee KDF personnel and their operation in the starbase protected space. All ranks are to be given only temporarily; but, come with all privileges allowed to someone of that rank.

Concerning Starbase 249, the nebula surrounding the base is still considered unstable and unsafe for travel. A travel advisory is in affect for any civilian ships trying to fly into, or out of, Starbase 249. It should also be noted that all starbases on the recently released list is now to be considered a militarized zone.

Update: We have just split up the department heads for the Starbase, and now have separate departments for Medical, Science, Tactical and Security.

However, since Security has recently been occupied, we are still very much in need of Tactical, Medical and Science officers.

Additionally, there are still a lot of starship postings needed.

In July of 2013, Starbase 381 opened to the general public with great results. Yesterday, Cryptic Studios posted a guest blog written by the 26th Fleet's guild leader inviting the entirety of the role play community to network and mingle aboard Praetorian station.

Last night's numbers are an overwhelming success. At last count a hundred role players, both new and seasoned joined together to help build a Star Trek Role Play Community. Introductions were made, alliances formed and guild memberships established between players.

In short, you've spoken and we hear you loud and clear. Last night, I fielded a question from omegaphallic on the STO Forums:"Is there a Klingon equivalent?"

The answer is, not yet. However the 26th Fleet has a KDF sister fleet that is building the core necessary for an open Starbase to function effectively, and we need your help. We're looking for responsible men and women who want to offer a hand up to their fellow role players, men and women who know how to tell a good story and work together as a team to accomplish established goals.

Or, just role players who give a damn and want to make a difference. If that's you, visit the 52nd Legion today and put in an application!

Your post has been given the great honor of resupplying the mighty 4th Fleet, on it's path to further the goals of our Empire. A detailed list of our material requirements is enclosed, and will be ready for transport before our arrival. The details of that arrival are classified, so it is the encouragement of DSF High Command that it be done quickly, and efficiently.

We have judged you by your very recent annexation in to the Klingon Defense Force. ISF Intelligence sources predict your star base would fail four of the seven criteria for DSF fleet maintenance, and all four are related to a foreign or criminal presence. Details concerning how you might meet our standards will be forwarded to Internal Security. DSF High Command highly suggests you observe, and do not interfere with their efforts.
