how would your ship be destroyed?

I think a wonderful example of the destruction of a good ship must be the crash of the Enterprise D on Verdian. People, myself included, loved that ship. It would have been a nice monument for the Enterprise considering the saucer was left there and the planet was uninhabited.

I have already decided that after a fierce battle with my crew's worst possible enemy it would battered and then by some means be pulled into a black hole.

    After a long and eventful career my ship will be ordered to return home, mothballed and sold for scrap. As it is being taken away, me and my crew will steal it and go on one last adventure before flying it into the sun (me and my crew escape at the last minute).

    Id say feed all my redshirts beans for a whole week turn off the air scrub bers and ventalation system then let it fill with farts then just as im beaming out i flip a lit match.

    and voila my ship explodes in a glorious fireball AND i kill a ton of redshirts....two birds with one stone :D

    The Samson way to go: taking as many of the enemy with the ship as possible. Sucker my enemies aboard, trap them, and let the computer give an audible count down to matter/anti-matter oblivion.

    Hmm..oh, yeah...

    well then, we should automate her, fill her hold with the most destructive bomb we can find, and send a suicidal captain in with placating claims that he might just change sides. Once he's over the capital city, power drive that ship into the heart of the...

    hmm...

    The ship should be decommissioned and set up as a floating museum until structural integrity fails from too many kids taking "souvenirs".

    if i had to choose how the RRW Akivasha would go, it'd be going down fighting, a suicidal assault against impossible odds.

    Single-handedly taking on an entire Borg battle squadron sounds just about perfect.

    Suicidal ramming of Mudd's ship with a perfectly timed warp core breach that sends that annoying little dude into oblivion.

    Meanwhile, I escape on my captain's yacht and set sail for parts unknown.

    Barring that, a kinetic strike on the enemy's homeworld.

    Well, the USS Hybrid- pardon me, Hypatia was set to self-destruct to avoid assimilation by a Borg in Literary Challenge #39, "Lone Drone", in the story "The Last Voyage of the Hybrid".

    Then the USS TRIBBLE- er, Bastogne suffered irreparable damage after transiting a randomly-appearing wormhole in Literary Challenge #44, "Down the Rabbit Hole", in the story "A Long, Long Way From Home".

    The Herpes- ah, that is, the Hephaestus was actually more quietly retired (so the SCE could tear her apart, and analyze how Vovonek managed to assemble a single starship out of those particular parts, including processors from a 29th-century timeship), in Literary Challenge #50, "Redux 2.0", in the story "Moving Day".
