Are elite widow fighters worth it?

I already have a wing of Elite Scorpion Fighters for PVE, but now I'm looking for a wing that is more suited for PVP. I can pretty much afford any of the higher level pets except those from fleet stores. I've had my eye on elite widows for some time. Currently I'm using regular Runabouts. Would elite widows be higher dps than any of the "advanced" pets at the dillthium store?

I have not been able to read my bug tickets in over a year, not even the tickets about not being able to see my tickets.
I find the drama of your signature proof of your immaturity, this means you, DR whiners.
But I don't have access to fleet stores.
While they may seem ideal, they're possibly the most... annoying pet of all, because in addition to Tractor Beams and Chroniton Torpedoes they also spew tetryon plasma.
If you want to go for a little bit of cheese, but not so much that it completely insane, use the Advanced Danubes instead. The standard ones do their job just as well. I would stick with those.
That's what I'm looking for -- a good shield stripper. I run a torpedo boat with low weapon power and max auxiliary power. I need the best shield stripper I can get.
But they don't work quite like that though, only one can use a TB and all of them are put on cooldown, I can't say how good their Tetryon Plasma is, but if it's like npcs with Warp Plasma, they're pretty stupid about how they drop it.
I paired elite mesh weavers and elite widows in pvp as part of my drain build, so I can't tell if the proc comes from Mesh weavers or widows. I like their fire at Will.
Fun fact 2: best fighter is the scorpions. 2nd best would be one with a tractor.
Fighters die and it takes them a while to get effective again.
Frigates don't die nearly as much
Best thing in the world would be, if you own the carrier and it's frigates they should be transferable to all carriers. And no, that won't OP anyone.
As others say, it's a good shield stripper. But due to their use of BFAW, they tend to aggro more than you like them to, which is a major negative. So I stopped using them on my characters and opted to use Elite Scorpions (don't have access to buy Elite Fighter from the Starbase).
