Uniforms Question

salynraydersalynrayder Member Posts: 139 Arc User
Hey everyone. Quick questions for ya:

I'm seeing people below, equal, and above my level with a lot of great outfits/uniforms. I'm talking about a lot of cool spacesuits and intricate military dress uniforms. My question is how do I get my hands on these cool threads?

My next question concerns turning off armor skins in the status screen. I can't get my armor to show within the status screen or in-game. I used to have no problems at all. My kit will show but not the armor. I don't have this problem with my away team. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Hey everyone. Quick questions for ya:

I'm seeing people below, equal, and above my level with a lot of great outfits/uniforms. I'm talking about a lot of cool spacesuits and intricate military dress uniforms. My question is how do I get my hands on these cool threads?

Some of them will be C-Store unlocks - The Original Series outfits, for example. Others, like the Odyssey Uniform, Senate Robes and Miner's Outfit, are obtained through a fleet's Starbase and associated holdings.

Others will be EV-Suits (which you can buy on the exchange) but some are Reputation unlocks - The MACO battle armor, Omega Battle Armor and KDF Honor Guard armor - which must be obtained through the Reputation system and then can be modified as outfits via an additional unlock. Obtaining higher Mks of the equipment will yield additional costume unlock projects, which will unlock additional parts to each outfit.

Other uniforms (such as the 29th Century Starfleet uniforms from VOY: Relativity and the Time Traveller jumpsuit worn in ENT: Azati Prime and others) are available from the Lobi token store in-game, or are subscriber rewards. Finally, the Vice-Admiral Longcoat is awarded to Starfleet players upon reaching Level 50.
My next question concerns turning off armor skins in the status screen. I can't get my armor to show within the status screen or in-game. I used to have no problems at all. My kit will show but not the armor. I don't have this problem with my away team. What am I doing wrong?

Try going to the status screen, ensure there is armor equipped in the armor slot and check that there isn't a little "eye" icon next to it with a line through it. If you see it with a line through it, click it and it should make your armor appear. You can also toggle weapons and kits using the same method.

And the Federation 'Dress' Uniform (seen in "Insurrection", "Nemesis" and later seasons of DS9) is unlocked by reaching Diplomacy Tier Four.

Hm... There should be a little eye icon next to your armor on your character screen. Look to see if it's X'd out or not, if it is, click it and wait a moment, your armor should show up.

Hey thanks all for your info. I'll be sure to check out lobi stores and the rep system. Maybe I'll look for a fleet soon as well.

As for the armor not showing up, I'm adjusting the boxes in the status screen to turn off armor, kits, weapons, etc but no changes are apparent. It won't change in the status box or when I'm running around with my away team. It will hide/show my kit but nothing else. My away team is shown wearing their armor but I'm stuck in my 'Khan uniform or TOS uniform (the two I regularly switch between).

    Hm...

What armor, exactly, are you equipping and not seeing?

I'll point out the Destiny uniforms are NOT canon, even though it says they are.

Been wondering, what are the destiny uniforms even from? Can't be the destiny trilogy of novels cause that would just be the tng movie uniforms.
It's not my fault if you feel trolled by my Disco ball... Sorry'boutit.

OP, what is the faction/race of your character? That's also a key factor because many armors won't show visuals on Rom or Klingon characters.
Captain Selek - Vulcan (TAC Lvl 50) - U.S.S. Chimera (Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier NCC-92810) / Captain Krell - Liberated Borg Klingon (TAC Lvl 50) - I.K.S. Nogh'Sar (Fleet Qin Heavy Raptor) / Commander Kel'ara Teerel - Romulan (ENG Lvl 50) - R.R.W. Silverhawk (Fleet T'Varo Light Warbird Retrofit) / Fed Fleet: Section 31 / KDF Fleet: Klingon Intelligence / Romulan Fleet (Fed): Romulan Intelligence / STO Handle: @ed583

Yeah, there should be. It may have broke for you though like it did on my Romulan, which I can't even edit uniform anymore either.

Ok, in response to some of the above questions, here is the situation:

I am a Fed human male.
I am currently wearing the Wrath of Khan uniform.
I can't remember what armor I have on, but it is either looted or a main story quest reward.

In the status screen, I am shown wearing my Khan uniform. I am also shown in the same uniform in normal game play. When I opt to show the armor by clicking the small boxes, there is no change in the appearance of my character's armor in the status box or in normal gameplay. There IS however, a change in the kit appearance. It seems to be working like normal.

Thanks for all the help and info thus far.

Hmm. Sounds like a bug, as all armor should give you a visual appearance. I'd submit a ticket about it.

Actually, some of the storyline set armors, like the Jem'hadar, I don't think they have appearances yet (you have to have the set, then turn it and some Lobi in at the Lobi store to get the higher level set that has the visuals).

Ach, yes, I knew i'd forgotten something. The Longcoats you might have seen are from the Winter Event, too.
