I'd like to request that separate difficulty settings be put in the game for ground and space. I enjoy playing space on elite but ground on normal. I know there's a workaround and I already use it, but it requires zoning several extra times and it's not group friendly. I and several of my fleetmates find space combat far more challenging and much more fun on elite. However, ground combat doesn't get more fun at higher difficulties, it just gets more tedious. This feature would be very welcome.
Been asking for this ever since they put in the difficulty settings. I gather it would be difficult for them to do.
To be honest, Elite on the ground is only really difficult because a few enemies are very unbalanced. Reman Captains, Tholian Captains, a few others are basically godlike on Elite. Fix them and it'll take care of a lot of the problem.

I thought it was just me. This seems similar to what I experience in playing ground missions on elite in the exploration sectors. I can roll through the first few encounters without much trouble, but the final encounters wipe the floor with me and my officers.
After I've used up a few healing sticks, I just beam out, heal, reset to normal, and continue.
I'm not looking for them to be nerfed, though, unless they are impossible to defeat. Right now I'm assuming I just need to improve my ground game.
Meh, the difficulty settings are useless. Its not fun since all it does is give the enemies stat boosts and there is no noticeable increase in rewards. All in all it just makes the fights take longer and eat more healing items.
Increasing difficulty should work the same way as doing missions with a team, by spawning more and larger enemies. It would be nice to fight larger groups instead of always 3 frigates or 1 real ship. And its more fun to fight a real dreadnought than a battleship thats been buffed up to DN stats. This would also have a noticeable effect on loot and overall make it worthwhile to play on a higher setting.
Separate difficulty sliders would be a good idea. Different people find different things difficult, and at different times.
Funnily enough, for me, for a long time while levelling, when I really wanted separate sliders, it was the other way, I was a happy bunny on Advanced ground, but the Advanced space did me in.
Nowadays, at cap, I do both ground and space on Elite, because every fight feels a bit more epic, like it should, and I can't take any fights for granted; and because there is a slightly better reward rate. But I would have loved separate sliders while levelling.
