Endgame Escort

I'm really having trouble deciding whether or not to use the Advanced escort. I'm also considering the Defiant R and the JemHadar HEC. I don't think I would make use of the Multi-Vector mode, but I've seen the escort to be quite deadly. The carrier can be considered the best escort style ship, but I've also seen the Kumari ships used quite effectively. I've considered using a build with 3-4 plasma DHC in front, one plasma torp in front, and 3 turrets in back. I mainly worry about Advanced escort vs Jem HEC. I would appreciate any input.

I also am considering a build with 4 antiproton DHCs fore, maybe antiproton beams or something in the back, a KCB...

They are so different... It's difficult to give you a good advice without knowing your playstyle.

The JHEC is a recommended escort for engineers, because it can tank like a cruiser in PvE (3+2 in engineering => dual Aux2Batt with RSP2). It's very good for tactical captains as well, it's part of most record-breaking teams I've seen in elite STF.

The Fleet Advanced Escort has a scientific LT-Cmd slot ; it makes a lot of difference in the escort gameplay and performance. Throw a gravity well on a pack of moving opponents (e.g. Borg probes or spheres) and trigger cannon scatter volley : no other (combination of) abilities are so deadly in the game.

Both are extremely good. The FAE suffers from the wasted ensign problem, but compensates with the 5th tactical console. The JHEC is uniquely best of its own kind, but it's a special gameplay that won't be suitable for everybody.

On which one do you believe you will have more fun ?

also don't forget the akira refit, it does good damage as well plus having fighters help with the dps. :)

In every game I play I can play any way with practice. I most likely will end up with both because of the fact that you have to grind the EC for the HEC. Thank's for the input!

Ok, does anyone have a recommendation as to how I can get dilithium for fleet weapons and EC for the HEC at the same time.

grind dilth from doff, do dailies, and unexplored space. the fastest way I know how to make dilth is to sell z points.
