Reinstall and now stuck with ARC?

I just had to reinstall because of the constant DC's and absolutely no support help on the subject. They close the ticket without resolving the issue. Now I find that I'm stuck with this thing called arc that has to run in it's own window and can't be closed while in game. To top that off it serves no purpose other than being a second middle man between me and the game. It's lagging like crazy now and making the game unbearable. I'm almost at the point of quitting and just finding another game not run by this company. I would rather not though, I really like STO. Is there any way I can get the old launcher back and totally ditch ARC? I mean it's horrid and was a really bad idea to begin with. I don't know which is worse, the disconnects or this lag.

I have been using arc since it became available (seems like a ghetto version of steam for a bunch of games I will never play) according to the post (months ago)there were supposed to be some bennies for using arc.. never got any, never seen any feel like flakes mis lead me.

unfortunately ARC is now needed all the time now. Makes me glad I keep my old Cryptic Launcher on a Backup drive for when things go bad lol. I'd go with using Steam for it since on Steam you have your friends list from there and can use it to chat with other people in other games lol.
