Like wow, thats really an awesome video.
I also checked the other related Horizon videos i found on youtube and i have to say thats some talented work there.
Keep it up
Excellent job! I really liked the transitions between the scenes. I'm looking for an editor and director for Star Trek: Majestic if you are interested.
Star Trek: Majestic producer, writer, set designer, and other hats.
Now that's really impressive. Not only this opening - I've also checked your other videos and they're quite something. The editing is great and I love the idea of a "summary" clip show of a particular STO series with your own crew. It actually feels trek and not yet another busty bikini-wearing orion girl army running around.
Although I must say, the opening does have a Babylon 5 vibe coming from it. :P (which is a good thing, as it was an awesome show)
Looking forward to seeing more in the future. And quite frankly I think this video should be featured on the STO main page, as an example of creativity coming from STO community.
It's by Two Steps from Hell, who did the trailer music for the first JJ Trek movie (that was called Freedom Fighters from their album Invincible). This piece was called Love and Loss from their album Archangel. You will find their music for sale on iTunes and Amazon (which is where I got it from). I tend to use a lot of their music because it's just so awesome, and they really are at the top of the game in the 'epic classical' genre of music.

Absolutely. It's the season 4 opening of Babylon 5 which has the different voices at the beginning and the split screens. I have always liked that seasons opening theme and really wanted to see that style of opening with my Star Trek crew. I stopped short of adding the line "the year is 2409" though.
God dammit that was awesome!! Always love your work, this had me wanting to see a series, felt very trek but very fresh ( awesome pet characters could see some comedy situations each week with them two, if this was an actual tv series ).

I enjoyed recording the scene of them both running up the corridor together. It just looked really funny, so I just managed to squeeze them both into the title sequence.

I never knew of this before. Their music really is quite amazing, and yet some of their pieces still fit Star Trek quite well.
And after reading your post, I went digging, and I found this one!! After 7 seasons of focusing on a special starship taskforce, I wanted to something about MACOs in LoR. For The Win really fits to the T; I can imagine the scenes were you introduce the members of the MACO squad, and the Yamato bridge crew, then alternate between diplomatic escort missions, and ground combat. And with that dramatic pause in the chorus, enough for a bullet time shot of Yuung doing his trademark tac-&-doff-buffed Lunge.
I'm so inspired right now!

You want to try listening to their music when eating a slice of toast or having a bowl of cornflakes in the morning for the most epic breakfast of your life. Going to a 9 to 5 job after listening to that just doesn't cut it, when what you want to do is run outside and save the world by slaying a thousand dragons with your bare fists.
Seriously though, I listen to pieces of their music and it inspires me to make more videos. As you say, there are some pieces that invoke certain images. For me, it can be a particular feature episode series, or an idea that comes to mind that I can create with The Foundry and commit to video. Be warned, it can be addictive and very time consuming, but there are certain ideas you get that you won't be able to leave until you fully realize it with a new video.
I really hope that other people start doing the same, and making their own videos. I think the developers would probably like to see more of it too.

Oh well. I could always watch my own aquarium build videos to remember how it's done.

That was absolutely fantastic
For The Win is an amazing piece. I used it for my New Romulus video last year.
