no shield damage but take 22k off my hull (was: Hackers?)

I know my ship is probably months out of date. but....

Just been in PvP, this guy would shoot me and cause no shield damage but take 22k off my hull.

Is this legit?

    Attack Pattern Beta along with Disruptors can do a lot of Hull damage. Throw in some Transphasic torps (40% bleed-through) and you could see a lot of Hull hurting. Plus people have Cutting Beams, etc now.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Elachi weapons? , those have a chance of ignoring shields

    Oh man, I feel so broken now lol

    Fair enough, good game if you guys think it's legit.

    I'll grab my tissues as I have to do 2 more of these to do lol

    Edit 1 of the beams looked a bit like the big 1 the crystalline entity hits you with, is that Elachi?

    There is also Doffs that allow for a chance of 35% bleed through of damage when using Beam Overload.

    to get back on your question about no other project available I have many multiple toon and one I had not touched in many many months that is lvl 50 could not acess the rep system either until I went back and did some of the new Klingon content. the tutorial and test your metal missions. after them it worked fine.

    Sounds good, knew I must be missing something. I don't even have a decent warp core at the minute, it's all new to me.

    Going to enjoy going through all this new content.

    But how do I drop the Crystal shard project, or can I run 2 at the same time?

    Edit: going to turn fraps on and show the world how pathetic I've become lol

    Beam overload doff for only $17,000,000 EC will let someone bypass 35% of your shields
    (purple energy weapons officer)

    Now imagine it was a Beam overload 3 doing a 70k+ crit

    As mentioned in this thread, you probably cam across either the new Beam overload doff or an elachi Dual beam bank overloaded, and maybe an attack pattern Beta, we don't know your build so that's not for certain. If you're really lucky/unlucky (depending upon how you look at it) you have come across a very specialised bleedthrough kill build using a mix of Directed energy modulation (with Marion), Elachi DBB, BO doff, maybe an APB between Tactical Teams (if applicable).

    There are probably more things you can do to increase bleedthrough and/or chance for bleedthrough damage that I don't know about yet.

    Also Onlineangel... Gotta remember that Breen Cluster Torpedos can cause up-to 25% Hull Dmg ignoring shields... Also if a Captain has Beta skill (improves mines) that 25% can be much higher...

    Don't worry you can't make title changes - only a community mod - or Branflakes the manager can.

    It is clear you were not talking about actually hacking - hence the reason the title was changed and the thread is still here.

    I am probably too late to jump in but...

    @OP. It was an Elachi dual beam bank under the affects of a beam overload. Plus regular buffs as well I'd imagine

    Elachi weapons have a 2.5% chance to bypass 100% shields and 50% damage resistance. You can see how this can be so lethal...

    And before you go out and by a bunch of elachi weapons, know this...after 1 procs no other elachi proc may happen on the "proc'd" target for 5 seconds. So a proc'd turret would prevent a dhc from procing.

    They are really bad unless you just 1 and use it with BO, for a chance of a big hit bypassing shields
