Looking for fleet

I have decided albeit a bit late, to take the plunge and start shopping fleets.

What I am looking for is a casual minded, decent sized fleet that is not T5, since I would prefer to take part in the actual portion of the game involving building a base, mine, embassy, etc.

As far as my toons go, I have 2 mains Fed & KDF (14 TTL), been around on/off since beta and already have most, if not all the gear, ships, etc. that I want. Elite fleet weapons and some of the other fleet based filler gear would be nice, but I have come to the conclusion that they are not game breaking based on what I have experienced in ESTF's or PvP.

The only stipulations I have are that I will not consider joining fleets that mandate Ventrillo or Guild/Fleet event participation; if I see a need to come onto Vent I will do so (IE- PvP). I am more of a solo, do-it-yourself type of player when it comes to STO, but one that will be happy to contribute a pretty fair amount of resources towards projects or group up with other players (PvE).

I do not role-play, and am not interested in drama, politics or immaturity since there is enough of it going around in RL. Aside from that, I am quiet, polite, dry humored and easy to get along with.

If anybody could steer me in the right direction as far as to which fleets would be a good fit, I would appreciate it.

Hi joker8me you might want to consider UFP

We currently operate 5 in-game fleets (3 Federation and 2 Klingon) so there would be lots of of opportunities for you to contribute to fleet holdings (starbase, embassy and mine).

At the moment we have just over 800 active members from more than 40 different countries and the group has existed for just over a decade.

There are no strict rules in terms of activity. We do use TeamSpeak but you are not required to use it. Fleet events are entirely optional, they are there for members that want to take part in them. The only requirement for activity is that once a month you sign roll call so we know you are still active, this literally takes seconds and if you need some time away that is not a problem as you can mark yourself as on leave and will then be exempt from roll call for the duration.

If you would like to know a bit more feel free to visit our website and forums at www.ufplanets.com and take a look around and/or feel free to chat to some of our members.

Good evening. I hope you will take a moment and consider the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet. We are a small but great fleet. We are easy going, dedicated and friendly. We all come from different backgrounds and have different ways of doing things, but that?s part of what makes us great.

Anyone in our fleet is happy to help others when needed, in almost any aspect of the game and in some cases RL. We have a fleet TeamSpeak3 server that we use for voice chat not just in-game but also to hang out as well and get to know each other better (not required, just available). Many of us are located on the East Coast (USA), Canada and the EU.

Although I say our fleet is dedicated, we also realize that everyone has lives as well, so therefore when you need to take the time, you don't need to be concerned about losing your position within the fleet due to RL too. We do not discriminate against such things because we understand that sometimes real life issues and problems can take time to resolve, and that some time is needed to sort things out.

So please, think about joining and moving with us into 2409 armed with the best Intel, the most specific and targeted body of knowledge about STO, and a group of Fleet-mates who will be there with you in the crunch.

    The Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet

    Live Long and Prosper!

If you would like additional information on the [VKF] please don?t hesitate to contact me or any of our members.

I would like to point you in our direction if you don't mind. We are Liberty Task Force (Fed) and Liberty Honor Guard (KDF) at www.libertytaskforce.com. Our Fed fleet started on April 28th, 2013 and we are just about fully Tier IV everything; our Embassy is done and our Dilithium Mine is nearly 100% complete as well.

We are community based and a lot of our members are registered to our website. We boast active forums (parts of which are only visible to members) but this is not required. We use TeamSpeak but again this is not required either. Our only true requirement is 18+ years of age. We always have people on to run things with, STF's, Fleet Alerts, PvP, ect.

We do welcome the solo player and rank progression is based on total contributions to the fleet. Again take a look at our website, if you like what you see you are more than welcome to join. Feel free to e-mail me directly at Info@LibertyTaskForce.com and friend me in-game at Grayfox@GrayfoxJames.

    Hi Joker

Can I ask who you went with?

You described me to the T in your OP.....

Fiqure, I would roll a new toon, (Only have 1 toon - Career member from day one) but don't know where to start in current game...so from scratch is my plan!

Never joined a fleet as I am exactly like you, a VERY casual, play don't play, solo player. I don't want any restrictions on my play, but if find the 'right fit' casual no commitment fleet, I can contribute and be part of, well that sounds great...

I'm in a similar situation, myself....

Still very new to the game(it won't even let me start a thread here or talk in 'Zone') yet) as a Free member, but have been following the game's progress since Beta(was invited, but was unable to participate)...; the fates finally smiled upon me in the last week or so with a new desktop PC that I'm still breaking in...*crosses fingers*.

Flying for the Federation, and having just as much fun wandering around the quadrant aimlessly as I am completing missions, but plan on paying a visit to Wolf 359 at some point today to pay my obvious respects...; I decided to create a Sciences character as it fits my own personal style of play the best...that, and I aim to end up with a ship that either allows me to keep my enemies at arm's-length and/or support my allies...so I'm wide open to suggestions on ships, keeping in mind that I'm presently unemployed(stupid real-life!) and have little to no options for acquiring Zen for the foreseeable future.

I've got plenty of MMO and MMORPG experience, having spent 2-3 years in EQ, 2-3 years at WoW, 5 years at City of Heroes(we will NOT forget), and time at half a dozen other titles.

I'm about as laid back as you can imagine...any more, and I'd probably be horizontal, hehe...; but I can bring the heat when things get serious in a battle. At present, I do not have a mic for in-game chat, unless you count the one that came built into this PC's web-cam, and I haven't even learned how to activate it yet, assuming it's compatible with STO at all! It seems to've come with Skype built-in, though, so if I end up with a mic, I could use it, though I greatly prefer to simply type in-game...9 years of data-entry with the U.S. Postal Service will do that to a guy! :D

I should probably get more familiar with how the game plays before actually posting this, but I suppose it can't hurt to try...but I generally won't accept blind invites...and I've already had 4-5 of them since starting yesterday...if someone's gonna recruit me in-game, you gotta sell me on it 1st! ;)

O.k., that's enough of this extended post, but many thanks for your comments, suggestions, and advice!

Definitely worth staying clear of blind invites. They don't benefit anyone. The fleet has to be right for the member and the member has to be right for the fleet, with a blind invite neither side has the information it needs to make an informed choice.

Oh, I've been around the block a few times...well enough to know when something fishy's going on...I tend to act much younger than my 41 years...I'm just a big kid at heart, so the idea of FINALLY getting to explore the Alpha Quadrant...yeah, no -way- I was letting that get away again!

Oh, and I -love- that look of your UFP page...stylish, yet functional...flair, yet form.... ;)

I'll almost certainly be in-game at some point today...so if you see me, feel free to say hi...but be patient while I'm still working out all the keybinds and commands! :P

Hello, would you like to join our fleet? It is called Kobayashi Crew and consists of EU/UK and American time zone players. We are all friendly and helpful too. If not have a great day :)

We have a Facebook page and twitter.

I am only on at weekends during term times as I am in university, there are many other players online that use our raidcall chat server, and we are all mature players, the contacts listed below have plaid since beta and are between 32 and 50 yrs. old. (Only 1 teenager in the fleet, but they are welcome)

You would be welcome in our fleet, we have 166 members at the moment.

Join and have a look, if you don't like it you can always leave. It?s also easy to progress through our ranks and take a leading role within the fleet, you can contribute and be as involved as you like, so if you only log to do a quick mission or want to run missions with others, you will find both styles of play within our fleet.

Casual gaming to grinding missions the founding fathers of Kobayashi Crew look forward to enjoying all STO has to offer with you!
