Alright, whose the wise guy behind ISE?

For a few days now, I have blowing up the generators then blowing up the nanite spheres...ya you heard me, wanna fight about it?

Anyways, I have not seen a single sphere pop epte once, while "their" transformer was still up.

What I'm thinking is that whoever did up the estfs didn't like people's strategy of nuking the transformer before the nanite spheres have a chance to get there and programmed the "ZOMG. TROLL SPEED POWERS ACTIVATE" and then run to mommy gate to get protection code just to spite us...

Who's with me on this?

I welcome the change they did 5 months ago...glad they just didn't give the spheres a million more HP, and Uber pew pew powers.

Plus players already adapted to this now, so it's not even a challenge at all anymore.

It totally isn't a challenge, just an annoyance.

Still, I just gotta wonder if this is some sort of ha ha moment

its a challenge when the sphere speeds off to the edge of the map and you have to play hide and seek.

Yep, we do that too, blow the cube, then blow the generators quick (usually timed to come down all at once) then concentrate on the transformer... the nanite spheres do not come till the first generator is blown for that transforer.... and a good high DPS team can take out the transformer before the nanites get there... then it is just opping up the nanites on one side before starting it over on the other.... only issue I have is when someone takes out a generator before the cube is taken out, then having to waste time trying to keep the nanites away from the transformer.

IIRC Gozer was the evil mastermind who created the original ISE. But the changes you're talking about were tweaks someone else made to his diabolical creation.

They really need to put some nice chrome exhausts on those spheres with some flames painted on the sides.

If they're going to be silly with the powers (not "challenge" just silly) they might as well do it right.

    Yay for Hot Rod Spheres!

A good high-DPS team with a bit of control can destroy the nanites in space before they arrive, preventing them from doing their wild rabbit runs at all since they will be dead before the Transformer goes down. This is actually a new strategy I've seen used: Instead of finishing by destroying the transformer in a hurry, forget the transformer and just nuke the spheres, preventing them from ever using their EPTEs.

Maybe a nice green plasma flame?

Don't need a team to do it, this is what I, by myself, have been doing the past fee days. another player on the forums has said he Does it as well

Oh well , the guy in this video(amazing performance TBH) wouldn't agree with you, ISE is way to easy right now that even the buff to spheres mobility isn't enough to bring challenge back, the 10% rule still works perfectly, and if you're having trouble in pugs there is an elite stf channel where you can find decent players.

I think it's more likely that they knew that the forums would be flooded with tears if the Spheres popped EptE before the Nanite Transformer was down. What do we reckon the travel time from the gate to close enough to heal the Transformer would be if they activated EptE once they spawned? 4 seconds? Less?

Whilst it'd be nice to have to coordinate dropping the Gens again (you know, actual tactics rather than just ZERG!!!!), you'd pretty much have to bring TBR to have a worthwhile chance of completing the optional.

If they nerfed EptE (even just for NPCs) so it wasn't so bloody stupid, they could do that.

That's being tested on Tribble right now, EPtE for non players of only 5 secs, not 30.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

Which is ridiculous since it becomes one more instance of players and NPCs having different rules. Better compromise would have been to just tone down EPTE somewhat for everyone so Spheres and Raptors still have SOMETHING interesting to them. *sigh*

Honestly, they should have kept it the way it was. I haven't been in an ISE where spheres' EPtE was a problem.

I can't imagine it really being a problem for anyone, just obnoxious is all. Hence compromise. Still faster than originally for the people that like it more 'active,' but toned down at least somewhat for the people crying and moaning because carrying a tractor beam or EWP was too complicated for them.
