ZEN transfer from Tribble to Holodeck

stonecold59stonecold59 Member Posts: 64 Arc User
Why won't CRYPTIC transfer any ZEN we've paid for on TRIBBLE be transferred to the HOLODECK, were going to use it in the game anyways.

I feel like im being ripped off because i have ZEN over in TRIBBLE i can't use.

I think if enough people agreed to this they would do something about it.

You don't buy Zen on Tribble with real money. Everything on Tribble is for testing. That's why you can get free ships and huge amounts of Dilithium.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

If you have zen on tribble, it was either handed out for free (meaning you spent nothing to be ripped off for), or you got it under the season 5 test system where when you bought zen, you got it on BOTH holodeck and tribble for the same price (meaning you already received and presumably spent your money's worth).

Nothing ever goes from tribble to holodeck. Too much potential for abuse.

Gawd, if we were able to have Tribble Zen transferred to the Holodeck, many people would be in bliss. I'm sure there are plenty of veterans who have enough Zen to unlock everything in the C-store. :D

Ahh, but that will never happen. :(

Tribble to holodeck transfers will never happen as many have posted it's a testing server and as such could have unforeseen circumstances.

Also any zen you have on tribble most likely came from the weekends where they handed it out to test things and as such, you're not being ripped off since you never paid for it.

Lol, I bet OP didn't expect this response from the community. He was probably hoping people would get together to try to swindle PWE.

    Nice try buddy.

I know this is the complete opposite problem that the OP is having.

I can't transfer zen from holodeck to tribble. I have 4k zen on holodeck and I wanted to try a few klingon ships before I bought them, so I transferred a klingon to tribble and it only had 1k zen, which wasn't enough to buy the ships I wanted to test.

I've said it before, and I am going to say it again:

What happens on Tribble, stays on tribble.

It's really not that hard to understand, and as others have already said: Those are testing zen... not real zen... Kinda like Monopoly money: They are given to you for nothing, and they are worth the same.

    TEST-server...
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

You cant transfer zen the other way either.

How exactly can you 'buy' the premium ships on Tribble? I wanted to take the Vesta out for a spin but when I went onto tribble it couldn't be purchased at any of the shipyards.

I went to Drozana to test the Ar'kif/Ar'kala warbirds with my Romulan. But there doesn't seem to be an option for any other ship atm.

And it wouldn't cause any permanent harm since nothing on test is permanent. We just had a Tribble server wipe before LoR launched.

Even if it were permanent, what could the harm possibly be?! I've always liked the idea of the EvE Online test server, in which simply as good as *everything* is available (virtually for free). That way you can test out Zen ships and such first, before buying them.

The "harm" is that a certain portion of the player base, namely the cheapskates and deadbeats, would use Tribble as their live server and never pay for anything while getting free access to everything everyone else is actually paying for.

Another way would be to have regularly purge/reset the Tribble server to discourage people from misusing it as a permanent server instead of for testing.

The test server is purged every once in awhile. I haven't been around long enough but it seems like every season and or expansion.

Not sure what kind of experience playing Tribble as a main would be. There is not THAT many people over there you would basically be playing storyline missions and then lose everything and start over. I guess if the storyline is that awesome!

Yeah, that's true. Hadn't considered that.
So giving them free access to unlimited Zen won't be allowed. Restrictions would definitely have to be put into place.

One way would to control it would be if you bought 500 Zen on the Holodeck you'd show a corresponding increase in your total Zen on Tribble.

    That could work. :)

Certain people do it because the test servers are where they can get free access to stuff that they would normally have to pay for on the live server.

I watched it happen all the time on CoH. New powers or costumes get tested and there were a bunch of people who only played on test so they could get the stuff without paying for it.

This game has had more server wipes on their test server but still not enough to discourage that sort of behavior if they allowed unlimited Zen.

Personally I'm not a fan of frequent server wipes, but I understand why they get done so I don't complain when they happen on a test server.

    Wipe it for each patch...

I think if enough people agreed to this they would do something about it.

Let me point you towards a tiny little thread called "What is your beef with the Galaxy Cryptic?" as an example of how epically you fail. 325 pages of people agreeing that something needs to happen and not even a whisper of a response from the devs.

Oh please. Anyone that takes the time to tally up the number of posts made by the same people will quickly realize that it's the same small group of people keeping that thread going.

This... And that thread isn't even relevant to this one, as they discuss two entirely different topics and departments within Cryptic/PWE...

And the fact that Tribble is a TEST server, not a live server, and should never be treated as such.
