Ok to start out let me state that I've tested this on several of my toons on DS9 and have found something that doesn't make sense. My weapons have higher dps when I have only my inventory open then when I open my equip menu. To follow this up I even unequipped a weapon I had a equipped on each character and had the same results.
My first example is a lvl 50 Bajoran Female Eng with maxed weapons prof. Fleet elite Assault minigun MK XII primary fire when in inventory with nothing else opened was 104 DPS when I open my equip menu it drops to 98.7 DPS
Secons Example Vulcan Male Tac lvl 50 with maxed weapons prof. Nanite disruptor pulsewave asasult mk XII primary fire 110 DPS in inventory alone, 109 DPS when equipped.
Anyone have an explaination? again both characters maxed weapon prof and lvl 50 both on DS9 (will test elsewhere to see if it's just a hub thing or if this happens on combat maps too.) Anyone have this issue too?
Edit: space weapons do it too try an unquipped one in hub space, in sector space and on your ship and you get 3 different readings on it's DPS. Umm weird.
My posts used to come with a sarcasm meter, but it was always broke.
Answer: When you equip a weapon, any skills you are specced into take effect. The stats of weapons in the inventory are its baseline stats
Your answer might make sense if in inventory it was lower (baseline) and equipped higher (+ skill). I don't think the number is meant to go down when equipped. What, the guy has negative weapon proficiency?
i think its a display glitch,my dilth store andorian dual phaser beam banks dont say they have alot of dps either in inventory or equipped, yet when i hit just about anything with them,im getting large non critical hits, sometimes in excess of 2000 dmg on hit...and since dps is a roughly direct approximate function of dph, then the only logical explanation of both our cases is that the weapons tool tips are reading incorrectly
my guess is,your weapons tooltip is reading in reverse, what it says in your inventory is what it will be when equipped...and when equipped it shows what it would be baseline
probably just afew stray binarys...could you possibly get some text from your combat logs maybe?the combat logs should show what damage your actually doing
For space if you dont have your starship listed as primary, the tooltip shows its tats as they would appear on your shuttle which is always less(royal pain)
as for ground, well i just dont know...
Inertia just means you can do Powerslides in you carrier!
